Received the prestigious Mastership Award from the Academy of General Dentistry in 1996, and the same distinction from the Florida Academy of General Dentistry in 1998. He is a member of theAmerican Dental Association, theAmerican Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, theAcademy of General Dentistry, theFlorida Dental Association, theInternational College of Oral Implantologists, and The Shepard Project; A Sarasota Dental Study Group. Dr. Dorociak continues to teach and receive advanced education in cosmetic dentistry,dental implants, oral surgery, endodontics (root canals), prosthodontics (dentures and crowns), and many other dental disciplines. He has received extensive training and instruction in Provo, Utah alongside world-renowned dentist Dr. Gordon Christensen.
Dr. Dorociak grew up in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, a town near Chicago where he rooted for the White Sox and the Fighting Irish. He misses the memories not the weather. He enjoys a good pizza and baseball or softball game. He is blessed to be in Florida and enjoys amusement parks and Disney. He loves spending time with his family, traveling, photography, sports, and reading. His wife, Gillian, is a dental hygienist, working right alongside of him each day. He and his wife have four children. Their daughter Jackie is a dentist and Katie is pursuing a phD in Neuropsychology. Their son Jared is at the Sarasota Military Academy where he plays lacrosse. Justin enjoys sports and roller coasters like his Dad and swims for the Sarasota Sharks.
Dr. Eckels is thrilled to be serving the Sarasota area after spending the past four years practicing in both Orlando and Palmetto. He aims to touch every patient and bring out the best in every smile by providing exceptional dentistry through kindness, attention to detail and the use of state of the art technology.
Dr. Eckels graduated from Niagara University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry and Business. From there he went on to Philadelphia and the acclaimed Temple Kornberg School of Dentistry. Currently, Dr. Eckels is involved in the Shepard Project Dental Study Club and the Academy of General Dentistry.
He is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where growing up he played many sports, excelling in baseball in football. While at Niagara,Dr.Eckelsplayed collegiate baseball. He moved to Florida about 5 years ago. In his spare time he enjoys living an active life and staying fit any way he can. He loves spending time outdoors with his grills and smokers while cheering for the Pirates, Penguins and Steelers. (We hope no fights in the practice break out between the two doctors when the Cubs and Pirates play each other). Currently, Dr.Eckelsresides in Lakewood Ranch with his wife Amanda and cat Rory.

Michele works magic at the front desk. She will be happy to greet you, make you feel at home, and answer any questions you may have. Michele has been part of Sarasota Family Dental since 1992 and loves how our patients feel like members of her own family. She enjoys seeing kids grow up, go to college, start families, and bring their children to us for care. Originally trained as a dental assistant, Michele has the knowledge and warmth to introduce you to our office and help schedule visits.
Michele feels blessed to have a happy marriage and two beautiful daughters. Her oldest Janelle, a graduate of Florida State works on the East Coast while younger daughter Rachel enjoys being the only child at home.
Amanda is your go-to person for everything related to dental insurance. Her friendly manner may also greet you in person or over the phone. She started working in the dental field in 2007 and found her home here at Sarasota Family Dental in 2011. With her vast knowledge of insurance, Amanda will make sure you get the most from your benefits. She verifies coverage, answers questions, submits claims, and is your advocate with the insurance companies.
Colettes gentle hands and reassuring manner ensure youll have a great dental cleaning and leave with a clean smile. Shes been with us since 2005 and loves the friendships shes developed while working one-to-one with patients. During a visit, she talks with patients about their oral health. She teaches each person the best ways to keep their mouth healthy and smile bright and beautiful. Colette is also our OSHA/HIPPA and CPR coordinator, as well as the purchaser for hygiene and biomed products.
Kelli started working as a dental assistant in 1995. She then went to SCF for hygiene school, graduated in 2002, and then finished a Bachelor degree in Dental Hygiene from St. Pete College in 2010. She enjoys building a rapport with patients, teaching each how to take care of their smile. While cleaning teeth and assessing oral health, Kelli educates her patients on their individual needs and desires. Kelli is also a Clinicians Report Evaluator for high-tech dental products: she may ask you to try one for her!
Kellis life is filled with love. She shares her life with her significant other, four step-children, and one grandchild. She also has three dogs. Kelli enjoys Ohio State and Tampa Bay Buccaneers football, and owns property in North Carolina where she plans to build a log cabin.
With her warm and friendly smile, Lori quickly makes patients feel at home. She enjoys getting to know each person and hearing their stories. For Lori, a visit is a time to catch up on the news from a friend and see how their smile is doing. Loris been part of our team since 2012. She graduated from South Florida Community College and along with the other hygienists is able to administer local anesthesia in a gentle and painless manner. Lori takes X-rays, examines her patients mouth for dental disease, and cleans teeth. She also provides a lot of education and is a Clinicians Report Evaluator for hygiene products.
Caryn was born and raised in Indiana and moved to Florida in 2004. She attended the State College of Florida for her dental hygiene certification and has plans to further her education with a Bachelors degree. Caryn enjoys meeting new people and teaching them about their oral health and how to maintain it. Of course, she also loves cleaning teeth! She is a great addition to charismatic, energetic team!
Caryn has been married since 2015.They currently live in Venice with their corgi puppy and love the Florida life! Her hobbies include reading, painting acrylic on canvas, crochet, cooking, traveling, and continuously learning.
Abby loves working with our patients and building trusting relationships with them. Shes always glad to answer questions, provide education, and most importantly make sure each patient has a positive visit. She started working in the field in 1995 and joined Sarasota Family Dental in 2016. In addition to working alongside Dr. Dorociak and patients, Abby assists the team with her knowledge and expertise.
