Dr. Okano was raised in Ewa Beach and graduated from Mililani High School. He graduated from the University of Hawaii, Manoa Campus and the University of Missouri, Kansas City - School of Dentistry in 1988. He established Family & Cosmetic Dentistry- Kapolei in 2001 after 13 years of working with his father, Dr. Thomas Okano, DDS in Ewa Beach. Prior to becoming a dentist, Dr. Okano was an EMT on C&C Honolulu Ambulance. When hes not in the office, Dr. Okano enjoys spending time with his family, giving his son golf lessons and taking him to his sporting events, surfing, and Football.
Sherri has been in the dental field since 1978, starting off as a dental assistant. In 1986, she graduated from the Dental Hygiene Program at University of Hawaii, Manoa Campus and has been working as a hygienist since then. Sherri is also a realtor for Engel & Volkers Honolulu. Outside of work, Sherri likes to do marathons, triathlons, surfing, hula, going to the gym, snowboarding, and traveling.
Nina graduated from Old Dominion University, School of Health Professions, Dental Hygiene Program in 2006. She has been working with Dr. Okano since 2017. Nina speaks Spanish, German, and English. You will find that she is compassionate, able to put her patients at ease and ensures a positive dental experience. Nina loves her career as a dental hygienist and considers all patients as part of the family. She is very dedicated to the dental health care profession and makes sure all of her patients feel comfortable and leave her chair loving their smile. On her days off, Nina loves being with her family, going to her childrens sporting events, going to the beach and hiking.
Summer has been in the dental field since 2006, starting as a dental assistant for a Periodontist. Although she enjoyed assisting through various periodontal and implant surgeries, in 2013, she transitioned to the front office and later became an office manager, finding a new passion while still being able to help patients. Summer joined Dr. Okanos office in 2016. She is grateful for the experience and knowledge that shes gained throughout the years and values her close connection with patients. When she is not working, Summer enjoys spending time with her family, beachcombing, hiking, painting, playing the piano, baking sweet treats, and watching her Korean dramas- Fighting!
Summer worked at a Pedodontic office in Pearl City a little over a year before joining Dr. Okanos practice in 2018. Her warm and cheerful personality brings a welcoming experience for new as well as established patients. With her ability to multi task, she is a perfect fit for the office and assisting patients with anything they need. When Summer is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and shopping.
Mary has been dental assisting for over 10 years and recently joined Dr. Okano's office. Her experience in the dental field makes her an efficient and precise chairside assistant. She has a warm, friendly demeanor and gentle touch during dental procedures which help patients to feel comfortable and at ease, earning consistent praise from patients and staff. On her days off, Mary loves spending time with her family and enjoys outdoor activities.
