Dr. Michael Korn received his doctorate of dental surgery from theUniversity of Southern Californiaand was nominated by the faculty for best hand skills or the Rex Ingraham Award, 2010. He received a Master of Science degree in Synthetic Organic Chemistry, 2005, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, 2003 both from Northern Arizona University. Dr. Korn chose dentistry to match his interests, skills, and perfectionist personality. In dentistry, Dr. Korn is able to make a lasting impression on the health, wellness, and happiness of the people around him.
Dr. Korn was drawn to the geography and climate of the Great Northwest to raise his family. He became a voracious volunteer atSwedish Community Specialty Clinicperforming surgical and full mouth extractions. In November 2014, Dr. Korn was recognized as Volunteer of the Year bySeattle King County Dental Foundationfor his free surgical work and dentistry services. Dr. Korn has also been awarded the honor of Fellowship status with theInternational Congress of Oral Implantologistsafter completing the Implant Pathway continuum.
Dr. Korn has had the pleasure of treating many different dental patient populations. While in dental school he spent some time in the special patients department treating patients with complex medical histories; he volunteered at theUnion Gospel Missionin downtown LA in an area known as Skid Row; he volunteered withQueens Care at USCtreating elementary school children in south-central Los Angeles; he has worked with theNisqually Indian Tribe; he has spent time at both mens and womens prisons in the state of Washington; he volunteers each month at theSwedish Community Specialty Clinicproviding care for the patient population who needs it most.
When Dr. Korn is not fighting the war on dental decay, he enjoys camping, snowboarding, white water rafting, and frequenting Seattle Sounders games. However, the strong majority of his time is currently devoted to his beautiful wife, little girl, and baby boy!
