Our passion is designing beautiful smile makeovers. We also love providing excellent restorative, preventative and family dentistry. Our commitment to these goals provides to you unparalleled service with a high standard of dental care in a comfortable, relaxing environment.

Dr. Kim completed his undergraduate studies at California State University, Northridge. In 2002, Dr. Kim obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at University of California, San Francisco. He started his career by helping the Yakima Indian Tribe in Toppenish, WA, and then moved on to serving in public health in Tacoma, WA. Although Dr. Kim enjoyed serving in public health, he knew his compassion would always be limited if he worked under someone elses demands and expectations. In 2008, Dr. Kim and his wife decided to move to Silverton, OR to practice dentistry and raise their daughter and son. Dr. Kimbelieves that the best doctor-patient relationships are based on trust, skill and above all, good communication. He takes time to answer all questions or concerns and loves getting to know his patients and educating them about oral health.

When he is not working, Dr. Kim is involved in volunteering on the Teams International Dental Van which serves all people who are in need, regardless of religion, ethnicity, sex, or race. Dr. Kim and his staff have hosted their own annual food drive for SACA and instilled a Candy Buy Back program for 8 years now. He enjoys both playing and making guitars. Although he is very passionate about saving teeth, Dr. Kim is also a fanatic for baseball.

Congratulations on your child being cavity free. Dr. Kim is committed to your childs oral health and we want to make his or her dentist visits as informative and fun as possible. We have developed our NO CAVITY KIDS CLUB to help motivate parents and kids to take better care of their teeth and live healthier lives. Below are a few of the aspects of the club we feel you would like to know about, as well as some tips that will help your child continue to be cavity free and reap the benefits of being a member.

Our office will be updating the Kids Club section of our website for you and your children. We will strive to have an informative and interesting website, free from advertisements or inappropriate material that you would not want your child viewing. The links and games that we have chosen are either dental related or basic, non-violent games both kids and adults will enjoy. Feel free to make suggestions or comments in the creation of this part of our website, as we would greatly appreciate it.

A benefit of being cavity free is that your child will earn a special listing on the NO CAVITY KIDS CLUB section of our website, and will also have their picture on our NO CAVITY KIDS CLUB board in the office. Your child is special for keeping cavity free and will also be entered into a monthly drawing for the chance to win a WII. If for any reason you do not want your childs name listed, we will promptly remove it.

After five No Cavity Visits, your children will receive an additional pizza party prize for their (and your) efforts. Further levels will come with better prizes and rewards for excellent oral health.

When you look for a service one of the first questions I think you ask is how much does it cost, but the person who assist you cannot even give you that information about something that is general. Very upset with the service. .

EDIT: I submitted a formal complaint with the OR Board of Dentistry, and received a follow up letter that "the Board voted to close the matter with a Letter of Concern reminding Dr. Kim to ensure that all recommended treatment has a clinical justification." So take that as you may. In my opinion, it shows, at the very least, that they shared some of my concerns that what was being recommended was questionable. STAY AWAY!!! Similar to others, I was nearly scammed by Dr. Kim. This was a number of years ago, and I wasn't comfortable posting a negative review at that time because 1) I had just moved to town, and 2) I wanted to give it some time to see if any of the supposed issues he found with my teeth turned out to be real (spoiler: they did not). I left my initial visit with some paperwork the office gave me on the way out the door (with zero explanation). Upon looking it over, I saw that it noted a bunch of cavities and other work that needed to be done over something like eight (8) different visits. I called the office for an explanation, and they said yes, that was all what needed to be done...they could not explain why nobody made this clear during my visit. I decided to get a 2nd opinion from Dr. Bliss, just down the road. I had the X-rays all sent over, along with the issues/plan of action of Dr. Kim, then went in for a checkup. Dr. Bliss reported that NONE of the work needed to be done. I continued seeing him, and still do to this day, and have had ZERO issues with my teeth in the 5+ years since then. My advice is to stay away from this office. Given my experience, and how similarly it overlaps with what others have reported in reviews here, I am actually considering filing a complaint with the BBB and whatever governing dental body might exist. This practice seems to be scamming people in order to line their own pockets.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!! I would give negative stars if that were an option. At 25 yrs old I visited this office for the first time after moving to the area. I had been to the dentist regularly for cleanings prior to this and "Dr" Kim had advised me I needed a deep cleaning and about 15 teeth needed work including 3-4 crowns. Did I mention I'm 25?!?! They tried pressuring me into a deep cleaning that day but I continually denied it despite there bullying. High tailed it out of this place and found a new dentist that confirmed none of that was true "the dentist just saw a new car or vacation in his future" and I only had a couple TINY cavaties that he would have just left alone if I wasn't getting invisalign. Lastly ALWAYS get a 2nd opinion when a dentist mentions tons of work needs to be done.

I was referred by a friend years ago and love this dental office. I live 45 minutes away from their office but we'll worth the drive. Absolutely love the team. They go the extra mile for their patients and that is not common.

Just speaking with the receptionist was a bad experience and I'm thankful I do not come to a place that can't act polite or kind over the phone. A receptionist is pretty much the first impression of an office. I have had a few other people I know complain about the unfriendly and rude staff at Michael Kim's office.

I moved from Oregon to Washington in 2016 and wish I could have relocated Michael here as well. Michael was my dentist (and my wife's and mother's) for many years and I was always made to feel very comfortable in his office and had all procedures thoroughly explained to me. His office staff (including his wife) as well as hygienists were always professional. I miss the quality of the dental work and Michael's humor.

Unprofessional communication, didn't show up at clinic for scheduled appointment or call back to explain what happened, cancelled at last minute and tried to reschedule other appointments. Dental hygienist was thorough, clean facility, and good experience when I was actually there for care. If it was more consistent I would have recommended them.

I love going to the dentist now. I used to be terrified to go to the dentist because of the pain I went through as a kid. My first "shot" experience at Dr. Kim's was AMAZING. There was a foot massage therapist working on my feet and used pressure points on the bottom of my feet and I did not feel ANY prick of the needle whatsoever! I will never go to another dentist after Dr. Kim! Thanks!

We went to Dr Kim and he found thousands of dollars worth of work needing done. This included removing a $5000 bridge that I had done at another dentist office less than 4 yrs earlier.. The Dr tries to go to fast from one client to the other, even telling the Hygienist to numb me up. Well, after experiencing the WORST dental shots I have ever had, she had numbed the wrong area and he had to do it all over again. While injecting me I was trying to tell her she was killing me, she actually yelled at me! Unfortunately, I had recommended this clinic to a few other friends. All of us will not go back. Dr Kim worked on teeth that I had never had any problems with and I have had nothing but trouble with them since. He also pulled both my husbands and I's bottom back teeth to do partials. After this he has canceled every appointment we have made to try to finish the work. I told them I didn't want to go over the insurance coverage and I paid my co-pay every time when all of a sudden I owed them over $3000 in the end. Much more than the original quote even. I asked them how I could owe this when I paid the co-pay every visit and wow did I get the run around, in the end I was told I could make payments but if I miss one payment I would be sent right to collections. I advise a second opinion and to watch your bill very carefully of you choose this clinic.
