Dr. McGarvey was a very professional, yet very friendly Endodontist. I had a root canal which in itself could have been an unpleasant experience, but he told me what was happening every step of the way, and that made me feel calmer! His assistant, Laura, was excellent. In the evening of my procedure, I received a phone call from Dr. McGarvey to check up on me. I was very surprised and appreciated that personal touch so much! I had a very positive experience. Highly recommend!

I visited Dr. McGarvey after my dentist referred me for a root canal. I waited in the chair for 15 minutes while I listened to him and a sales rep have a chat. He did a "cold test", neglecting to explain it, to be sure a root canal was necessary. This involves testing the surrounding teeth as well, which was painful. When I remarked to him that it hurt, he replied "too bad". When I expressed concern about another part of the procedure, he was condescending and refused to listen to my concerns. I left without treatment. I highly recommend Modern Endodontic Specialists in Fayetteville, they were amazing, attentive, and listened to what I had to say, resulting in a successful procedure!

Fantastic! Dr. McGarvey is highly skilled and has the newest high tech equipment! The office is meticulous and all of his assistants are personable and well trained. He is very gentle and leads the patient step by step through the process. Dr. McGarvey uses a gentle wave procedure that is minimally invasive and an alternative to standard root canal treatment. It uses a combination of disinfecting procedure fluids and broad spectrum acoustic energy to effectively clean the root canal system. It is worth the travel! He has my vote!

Refused my wife because she had had taken Aleve 8 hours prior to her appointment. Note, she was in extreme pain and in need of immediate relief. Instructions were to not take fever reducers "right before appointment", which she complied with. Their defense refusal was stated as "COVID guidelines" however in a field where patients are in severe pain, I find it inhumane to refuse someone in this much pain. We visited another endodontic and she was seen promptly, warmly and professionally. I will be going to the other endodontic, and I will recommend the other endodontic over this one. It's with great hesitation and reserve that I post this. I've written several Google reviews, but this is my first negative one.

Highly recommended! The staff was very friendly and informative. From the first phone call, I was informed of all their Covid-19 precautions that would be followed and how much I would be paying. During the root canal, Dr. McGarvey let me know what he was doing every step of the way. He continually asked how I was doing and made sure I was comfortable. I hope you never need a root canal but if you do, this place is top notch. *I also felt this place was very clean in terms of sanitation. Masks and gloves were worn, everything was wiped down and few other patients were in the office at the same time.*

I am editing my review from a couple weeks ago. When i originally wrote that review i had only seen the Dr for an exam. Since then I have had my root canal procedure done and I cant not express how great it was! What the Dr never told me was that he has a new machine that flushes the tooth of all bacteria for 5-7 minutes. I have had a lot of bad luck with root canals in the past. I guess I don't do well with them. I usually have a lot of pain, infection and have lost one tooth when a root canal went bad after 2 years and another that had to be re-done. Its been 6 days since my procedure and I have not needed any pain killer and the tooth feels great! Im convinced that its the new flush machine combined with an awesome doctor!! Im soooooo glad I decided to keep this tooth and that I went to Dr McGarvey!!.................................................................. Wonderful and friendly staff. The Dr is thorough with his exam and explained everything to me. He is a wonderful find and an asset to Oneida!

7.29.2019 on this day I made my first visit to Dr. McGarveys office . I was so pleased with the service I received. Dr McGarvey was very pleasant and has great "bedside manners". He took his time and explained everything to me as he was working on my teeth. After the procedure he told me what I could expect. I felt perfectly at ease asking him questions. Also the staff were very nice, pleasant and helpful. They were very accommodating while making my next appointment. All in all I would not hesitate to recommend this office. Although I live in Ilion the hour drive was well worth it.

I got my first Root Canal ever at McGarvey Endodontics and it was best experience I think something like that could be. The staff was kind and the location felt clean and inviting, not stuffy and scary. The doctor was super patient and kind. He explained each step so there were no surprises. Honestly for me the Novocain is the scariest part and I didn't feel a thing. The whole procedure went amazingly well so I'd absolutely recommend Dr. McGarvey.
