Born and raised on a farm in Salinas, California, Dr. Michael D. Wong understands and treasures the value of small-town hospitality and personal attention. He is passionate about providing all of his cosmetic and restorative dentistry patients with professional, competent, and extraordinarily attentive care. To offer the best care possible, he not only gives you the personal attention that you deserve, he also employs the most state-of-the-art technology available in the dental field.
Dr. Wong completed his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in the summer of 1971 and entered UCLA Dental School that fall. He graduated in 1975 with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and immediately passed the California State Board on his first attempt. After earning his license, Dr. Wong took the contagious enthusiasm, personal attention, and calming demeanor that have become his trademarks to several county healthcare facilities in the County of Los Angeles.
Two years later, Dr. Wong set up his private practice in a charming, cozy office that perfectly reflected his desire to deliver personalized care and individualized attention. His friendly-yet-professional demeanor, coupled with a dedication to providing plenty of personal attention to his patients, quickly earned him a reputation as the friendliest dentist in the Los Angeles area. He welcomes 'dental phobics,' and finds fulfillment in providing comfortable and competent dental care to people who are terrified of going to the dentist.
Despite his 31 years of experience, Dr. Wong still takes continuing education courses to increase his knowledge and practice of the newest techniques and cosmetic and restorative dental procedures. He has also become an expert in using the most cutting-edge technology for his patients benefit. Rather than letting assistants and fancy machines take time away from direct interaction with the dentist, Dr. Wong complements his modern technology with the old-fashioned personal attention that has long-defined his practice. Dr. Wong recognizes that his patients desire and deserve no less than the best and latest treatments, and he finds great satisfaction in meeting those needs.
In his spare time, Dr. Wong enjoys exercising his intellectual, creative, and athletic abilities, taking the time to work on computers, engage in photography, and go skiing. The proud father of two daughters, Dr. Wong has lived in the Los Angeles area for nearly 40 years, and is devoted to serving the dental needs of everyone, young and old alike, residing in the area.

I'm placing this review to help others not to waste their time. This dentist refuses treatment to unvaccinated patients. He will not ask you that question over the phone; he presents his rules once you show up in his office, so your time is wasted properly.

Dr. Michael Wong has been my dentist since 2015 and I highly recommend him. I rarely write reviews but he is highly deserving of praise. My teeth and gums have been in great condition since he became my dentist. He never tries to make money by insisting I do unnecessary procedures. My previous dentist was notorious for this. His office is very clean and he runs it extremely efficiently. He expects his patients to be on time for appointments, and he is always punctual as well. He is friendly, cares about his patients and hires great people to support him. Parking is free and easy if you walk a few blocks over near 14th St on California Avenue.

One of the great things about Dr. Wong is that he is always available for emergencies. There were a couple of time that I had to go in before my scheduled appointment and Dr. Wong made room in his schedule for me. I like his professionalism and his dedication to dentistry.

An outstanding dentist! Due to past experiences, I'm an extremely anxious patient. Dr. Wong is attentive, focused on the patient, and skillful. Grueling procedures that would have paralyzed me with terror have gone smoothly and painlessly -- even the much-dreaded needle didn't hurt! I enthusiastically recommend his services to my friends.

I'm a nervous dental patient. Dr. Wong takes his time and makes sure that I feel comfortable. He's very careful and does not rush through anything. He always tells me what he's going to do, before he does it, and makes sure that I am always comfortable. I really like that he wears loupes (magnifying glasses) and uses a specialized digital camera to see your teeth better, to perform more-precise work and to make sure that he is always giving the best possible dental work. He starts and ends appointments on time, and the billing is always very organized and straight forward. He seems to only take one patient at a time typically. When I arrive, he always greets me by name, and he has a very warm and calming presence.

First off - Dr. Wong is a VERY good dentist. He's thorough and practical - won't talk you into anything you don't need/can't afford. However, I stopped going to his practice a few years ago due to the support staff. I have a major phobia with the x-rays - I'm a "gagger" and seriously claustrophobic. The hygienist was of no help, just kept trying to shove the xray in my mouth. I asked them to use the children's size but nope, just kept trying to get it in. Eventually the front desk woman (who also cleans the teeth) came in and both were acting very exasperated with me as I was clearly holding up their evening. I finally just left and was able to find another dentist in the same bldg.
