Dr. Michael Colleran was raised in Burbank, California and is a fifth generation Californian. He attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo for his undergraduate studies and the prestigious University of the Pacific, School of Dentistry in San Francisco for his professional training. After graduation of dental school, Dr. Colleran moved to the Sacramento area ending up practicing in Placerville and Citrus Heights. With a desire to get back closer to family, he moved to the Central Coast in 2002 and purchased a dental practice in San Luis Obispo.
Each year Dr. Colleran spends more than 150 hours in ongoing education in dentistry to stay abreast with the newest techniques and technology and the latest in basic dentistry and old school techniques that have been updated.
Dr. Colleran is a nationally renowned dental author and lecturer and an expert on laser dentistry. He has spoken across the country on laser dentistry and had articles appear in several professional journals. He is also sought after by dental manufacturers as a consultant for product evaluation and research. Dr. Colleran is an instructor for the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry, which teaches LANAP and other laser dental procedures to dentists from across the globe.
According to the ADA, dental insurance is the number one predictor of dental visits. But in 2017, there were approximately 114 million Americans living without dental coverage. So, what about these people? Sadly, routine preventive care falls to the wayside because its too expensive. This lack of preventive care leads to dental problems, which become even more expensive to treat than preventive care would have been. Thankfully, at the office of Michael Colleran, DDS, you dont have to have insurance to get quality dental care without breaking the bank.
Only one discount for any procedure. No annual maximum. No coverage for procedures not completed in our office. Periodontal membership depends on initial exam and/or history of periodontal treatment with the ultimate goal of optimal health. Payment for service is due at the time of service.

I was very impressed by Dr. Colleran and his thorough examination during my initial evaluation. Dr. Colleran notice a rare tooth anomaly, "twin-tooth" and we discussed my medical and dental history. He approached the conversation with curiosity, and a willingness to explore this further with me. Plus, he is a one-stop-shop with several capabilities from root canals, extractions and tooth implants. It's comforting to know that my dentist has an understanding and the capability to treat several issues.

My experience has been very good from Michael collderman I hAve been going to him for the past four years and no serious problems have came up hopefully none will show up the staff is very nice and fun to say hi to very comfy waiting room and the dentist is on top ov his patients.
