Dr. Shamiram Melko earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from University of Pacific (Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry) in San Francisco, California. She then continued to further her education in the field of oral implantology and has trained to place and restore dental implants. Dr. Melko has completed courses and mini residencies in functional occlusion and orthodontia, and she is a certified Invisalign provider. She has also completed training in restorative and esthetic dentistry, a specialty that focuses on rehabilitating teeth and their supportive structures. Dr. Melko earns more than 100 hours of continuing education annually to ensure she and her team are up to date with most current advancements in oral health. She is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, the Mid-Peninsula Dental Society and the American Academy of Clear Aligners.

I love how every time I go for a cleaning Mercedes, the hygenist, is always incredibly gentle, yet thorough. The office environment is phenomenal, and the team as a whole is very professional and efficient. Dr. Melko always takes her time doing a precise exam, thus I feel cared for.

This is a really top-notch office! Dr. Melko is smart and straightforward, with an excellent bedside manner, and someone I trust with my teeth. Beyond that, it's the office staff and the hygienists that really take the office from great to stellar.

Dr. Melko and her staff are great. They are professional, thoughtful, and helpful. What separates Dr. Melko from other dentists I have gone to is her transparency and patience. She will take the time to explain the procedures and consequences so one can make an informed decision. I have been going to the same location for over 30 years. During that period, there have been 4 dentists. Dr. Melko is by far the best.

Mai began her journey as a dental assistant for many years before graduating from Carrington College and obtaining her Dental Hygiene Degree. Being a San Jose native, she started her dental hygienist career, working for several family dental practices all around the Bay Area. Mai has a calm, gentle, and easy-going manner with attention to detail. She enjoys baking and cooking when she is not at work, and she loves trying out new recipes with her family and spending time with her Siamese cat and American Eskimo.

Kirsten has worked in the dental field for over 20 years. As a dedicated and skilled clinician graduating 2nd in her class, her well-rounded focus on dentistry has given patients a positive impact on their dental health. She serves as the coordinator of the South Bay Perio Study club. Her easy-going and calm demeanor helps patients relax. Kirsten has a BA from George Washington University in Washington D.C. She also has diamond expertise and diamond grading certifications from the Gemological Institute of America and is a 1st-degree black belt in American Kenpo Karate.

Hi, Im Joan and I am here to help with all of your billing needs. I started out my career in healthcare as a medical assistant and then as a treatment coordinator in a dental practice. I took a break from healthcare to work in tech for over 16 years, but I always knew healthcare was always what I really enjoyed. What I enjoy about the field of dentistry is interacting with people and building relationships. When I am not at the office I enjoy spending time with my 2 grown kids, cycling, and hiking.

Catie is our Registered Dental Assistant with over 25 years of practice experience. Catie joined our team in 2002 and enjoys the wonderful relationships with patients which have developed through the years. She has a passion for aesthetics and a keen eye for detail. This has enabled her to use her aesthetic knowledge in dentistry since there is so much artistry involved in the process, as well as science. This passion has also fulfilled her entrepreneurial spirit to start her own skincare business, Skintuitions. Outside of the practice, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. You can find them spending time with family and friends, enjoying the outdoors, or working out together at their family

I am a newer addition to Dr. Melko's team and I am proud to be a part of such an amazing and hardworking team! Prior to joining Dr. Melko's office, I was a Patient Care Coordinator for an Aesthetic Dermatology Clinic. Outside of the office, I love cooking, exploring our great outdoors, and spending time with my two puppies, Apollo and Luna.
