Dr. Alquizar is a caring person who loves to spend time chairside with his patients. He finds it rewarding to be able to help patients of all ages achieve and maintain beautiful, functional smiles. He believes that straight teeth are important for daily life, not only for the obvious aesthetic benefits, but also because straight teeth are healthier since they are easier to clean.
His philosophy of treatment emphasizes taking into account the effects of orthodontic treatment on the facial features, and utilizing his scientific knowledge as well as his artistic sense to design a wonderful smile for each patient, while providing excellent bite function.
Dr. Alquizar received his Doctor in Dental Medicine degree from Temple University, where he obtained numerous honors. Among them was the induction into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, the Arthur W. Gage Award to the senior student with the highest average in the senior examinations, and the award for greatest accomplishment from the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.
Dr. Alquizar completed his three-year orthodontic specialty training at Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts, where he also earned a Master in Medical Sciences degree for research and training in the field of Oral Biology and a Certificate in Clinical Orthodontics and teaching. During his residency training at Harvard, Dr. Alquizar received ample training in orthodontic and dentofacial orthopedic treatment for children and adults, with the most modern and scientifically based principles in orthodontic technology. Dr. Alquizar also worked as a general dentist for the U.S. Department of Labor in Massachusetts for two years.
Dr. Alquizar is a highly qualified orthodontist who enjoys teaching and is an attending orthodontic instructor at Miami Childrens Hospital. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association and the Florida Dental Association.
Dr. Alquizar and his wife, Carla, reside in the vibrant city of Miami where they enjoy live music, theater, salsa dancing, and volunteer activities. Dr. Alquizars favorite activities are playing drums, reading, learning new languages, and deep sea fishing.

The best orthodontist group in Miami! Dr. Alquizar and his group are very knowledgeable and have state-of-the-art technology and staff. My twins both had to get braces, he was professional and ready to make their smiles perfect. I'm so happy how quickly we've seen the changes. Especially one twin who had twisted teeth. We are still in treatment, but very impressed. Cheers to creating even more beautiful smiles.

By far the best orthodontist group in miami! Dr. Alquizar and his group are very knowledgeable and have state of the art technology to get you the smile of your dreams. My son had a condition not common and in our first consultation he gave me hope and actual visuals (super high tech computer program) on how my sons treatment would go. In a matter of less than 2 years my son has the most beautiful smile I've seen.

My daughter started the treatment two years ago, with several orthodontic problems and just yesterday her braces were finally removed. Every time my kids and I have gone to this office we have been treated with kindness, respect and they have become part of my family. They haven't stopped working even through this Covid-19 situation which has help me keep my kids dental health on track. They had to complied with safety measure which are understandable and appreciated. They have always had clear communication with me and kept me inform on what to expect. Couldn't be happier with the service my child has received! I went to 3 other offices before deciding on Dr. Alquizar- Harvard graduate! More than treating her underbite and other medically-necessary orthodontic issues, Dr. Alquizar was the only one who pointed out - thanks to the latest in imaging (CBCT Cone beam computed tomography)- that my child should see an ENT. He showed me the images of an airway obstruction. My child had already had 3 surgeries with ENT and this was never resolved!!! It was the treatment she received from Dr. Alquizar that has her breathing through her nose, no longer snoring and gave way to her beautiful singing voice (biased on the singing voice lol). Airway obstructions are serious medical issues, in children especially, do your research. It was clear he was treating my child, not just her teeth, and for this I'm grateful. The orthodontic progress has been great so far and we're looking forward to final results! The place is spotless in cleanliness, all the staff is professional and always friendly!

This is the most professional and efficient office I have ever been to. Everyone is very knowledgeable and extremely caring to patients' needs .
