Dr. Daniel Meyers has extensive experience as a licensed specialist in orthodontics. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Northwestern University Dental School and his Master of Science degree in Biology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Dr. Meyers practiced general dentistry for three years in the U.S. Army Dental Corps before completing his orthodontic specialty training at Fairleigh Dickinson University College of Dental Medicine.

He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Roth Williams International Society of Orthodontists, and the American Academy of Orofacial Pain. Dr. Meyers has lectured locally, at national meetings and conferences, and in China on various dental and orthodontic topics.

Dr. Meyers is licensed, certified, trained and equipped to offer a wide range of subspecialized techniques, including early treatment orthodontics, Invisalign, Invisalign Teen, adult orthodontics, Wilckodontics, temporary orthodontic implants, surgical orthodontics, TMJ therapy and more. Dr. Meyers has been a certified Invisalign orthodontist since 1998 and was designated as an elite provider in 2017.

Dr. Meyers developed his practice on the concept of integrating principals of health care into the practice of orthodontics. Health care principles that he applies in the practice of orthodontics include a systems approach, minimally invasive care, the use of digital 3-D technologies, multi-subspecialization, and decision analysis.

In his practice materials, lectures, publications, and even on his hot air balloon (EmBRACEable Blue), Dr. Meyers has coined the term whole systems minimally invasive orthodontics to describe the practice of clinical dental medicine in orthodontics. Some of the distinctive principles of care in whole systems minimally invasive orthodontics are calibrated preventive protocols based on individualized risk assessment, and a Goldilocks approach to care not too much or not too little, but calibrated to individual needs and priorities.

  • training in cone beam CT + 3D imaging, minimally invasive dentistry, oral + oral-systemic medicine, dental + facial esthetics, bite function, orofacial pain, dental sleep medicine, interdisciplinary treatments, various sub-specialized techniques and technologies
  • Dr. Meyers and his staff have extensively trained with many well recognized leading experts to become proficient and stay on the leading-edge in a wide range of areas. We have traveled around the country to universities, private practices, user meetings, and scientific meetings hosted by the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Association of Orofacial Pain, and more. We believe our dedication to ongoing training is critical to our ability to bring you the best orthodontics has to offer.

Dr. Meyers provided me with his expert opinion on what treatment to pursue after collecting pictures of my bite with in-house digital imaging equipment and answering clearly in layman's term all of my questions. All the staff in his practice were helpful, friendly, and efficient.

The Invisalign treatment with Dr. Meyers has changed my life. The analysis and treatment of my particular malocclusion is spot-on and I have been virtually pain free (head and jaw). Dr. Meyers is very meticulous and his staff is very generous with their time when I have questions.

Just waited 1.5 hours for them to tighten my sons braces. They expect us to show up on time. No consideration for their clients time.

When searching for an orthodontist in Santa Fe I asked around and Dr Meyers was the top recommendation. I wasn't sure I could correct my bite with invisalign but he did it. No surgery. No braces. I'm nearing the end of my treatment and I'm thrilled with the results. I even moved out of state during the course and travel back to keep follow-ups. Staff has been wonderful. I recommend! Well... a couple years later. Addendum following treatment. Communication with staff was rough when trying to get recommended follow-up and attempts to be seen for a retainer issue. Finally after this last interaction I must update my review and drop a couple stars. It's tempting to drop more but I still think my orthodontic work has been successful. Front office staff make you feel like a nuisance for trying to schedule. A few hours before my last confirmed appointment I got a call "please tell me we aren't REALLY seeing you today." Wow. Thanks. Maybe just a "we are over-booked at that time, would it work to come at such and such a time instead and I probably wouldn't have thought anything of it. My summary now: I think probably decent orthodontist work from Dr Meyers but look elsewhere if you also desire friendly welcoming service. If I need anything else I will go elsewhere.

I had to wear braces for 3 times in my life for a total of almost 10 years. I have been going to Orthodontists offices for a looong time and I work in the dental field for most of my adult life. So, believe me when I say, Dr. Meyers is the most knowledgeable orthodontist I know and probably one of the very best in the entire Country. He knows everything there is to know about teeth, jaw, airway function, anatomy, oral surgery, related technologies and way beyond. You will get the most comprehensive care possible with the latest technology and technics available to date. You may not fully comprehend how the treatment works because, honestly, it is mind boggling to understand how the human body works and all the systemic links involved with any area of the body. I like to think I have a good dental IQ since I've been working on the field for so long. But, some times it is even hard for me to understand Orthodontics! It is no wonder it takes dentists 10 years to graduate from college. Besides that, Dr. Meyers have many more years of studies in post graduations and continued education hours along with his 30+ years of clinical experience. He also goes around the world to teach lectures on this subject he dominates so much. He is definitely a master in the art. You will be in great hands when you decide to take his treatment. We are very fortunate to have someone of this caliber here in small Santa Fe and God forsaken New Mexico!!

Dr Meyers is a genius. One in million as my awesome dentist Dr Harvey Simon calls him. Together they have done wonders for my bite correction. Great friendly and always helpful staff too.

Left my Free consult in pain. First impression of Dr. Mayers, where's the customer service? Where's the greeting? Where's the what's the reason you're here? Tech took me back and was sitting with me getting my ortho history. Tells the gentlemen in the room, "ready for the exam now". I assumed the man was Dr. Meyers because next thing I knew his fingers were in my mouth struggling to get my retainer off. It was a thorough exam, I will say that. He checked pressure and sourness of my jaw. Next he's telling me to relax and is moving my lower jaw up and down. Tech at one point mentions he's putting my jaw into place. Wait wait wait. This is a consultation! Why are you treating me? Now at home with a sore jaw and a headache and not sure what the hell just happened. I went for a referral about a tiny space between my two front teeth as my dentist was going to put binding or veneers but suggested I see Dr M first. I am not sure he heard my chief complaint while he was examining me and I tried to tell him why I was there. He never addressed it.

He fixed the problems from my previous orthodontist. I'm waiting to get braces for the second time. Dr. Meyers is the only one I'd trust to do my braces.

Lost my retainer so I went to Meyers for a short term set of braces for my top set. The inteo was great and friendly, also had lots of highlights with technology. He talked me into a complete set to prevent problems later related to tmj. I also had to get a jaw surgery(mandatory via him) before he put on my braces, which he recommended a place for. Later research led me to believe it was an unessecary surgery and the growth on my jaw was related to my tori(any well informed dr should know this). I paid for the fast track machine altered wires, and a year in still was having wires bent from the office. I was refunded that money. In total, it took over 2 years for this Dr. to straighten, already straightened teeth, and now my tmj is worse than ever. The retainer they put in the bottom came out after a few weeks. The technician then put in a chain link wire, which then allowed shifting in my bottom set, leaving me not to use my upper retainer due to wearing down teeth via friction. Originally I stated that I wanted two permanent retainers, but they seemingly couldn't get that done in the 2 year mark, so I told them to take the braces off because the Dr. Was not concerned about meeting my original needs, since he was already paid the 6k. Over all, it was money poorly spent, on a Dr. that clearly is just doing volume and not caring about patients time or needs. If your seeing the Dr only once a month, it's a scam- be aware. I highly do not recommend.
