At an orthodontic exam, we work to make sure the teeth and jaws are developing correctly by monitoring growth. We also evaluate the alignment of teeth and help determine if there is enough space for the teeth to erupt properly. Some potential problems are easier to correct at an early age and can prevent issues from getting worse. This can also help permanent teeth come in straighter. This is why we recommend children have an orthodontic exam around the age of 7-8 years old.
Orthodontic treatment is an investment in the health of your teeth and an investment in a wonderful smile. Some dental insurances have orthodontic benefits that can help cover the cost of treatment. Our office will be happy to reach out to your dental insurance to determine any orthodontic benefit you may have. Dr. Paul Meyer is the new owner and lead Orthodontist at Meyer Orthodontics. He is a Brookings native and youngest son of Dr. David Meyer. Dr. Paul received his orthodontic training at the Mayo Clinic Orthodontic Residency Program and prior to that, completed dental school at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. David Meyer has been providing excellent orthodontic care since 1986. He received his dental school education from the University of Nebraska and also attended the Mayo Clinic for residency. Dr. David and Dr. Paul are the first father/son combination to graduate from the Mayo Clinic Orthodontic Program.
Meyer Orthodontics was established by Dr. David Meyer in 1986. Dr. David has had a high standard for quality care and has been well respected in the Brookings and Madison area communities. The pillars of his approach to orthodontics has been quality, kindness, and grace.
Dr. Paul Meyer, Dr. Davids youngest son, joined the practice in July of 2019 and purchased Meyer Orthodontics in January of 2020. What a year to begin business ownership! Through all the peaks and valleys, Dr. Paul has upheld the same values his father had established and continues to weave them into the everyday at Meyer Orthodontics. The legacy of family and the importance of kindness and quality care are at the center of everything we do as a practice.

I am amazed at how welcome I felt coming in to Meyer. I have really bad dental anxiety and Dr.Paul and Jessie J really helped explain the process and made me completely aware of everything in my treatment. The Dental Assistant Shana who put on my braces walked me through the process the whole time and made me feel super comfortable. I will recommend this office to anyone I know. Thank you

I love the work they are doing on my teeth, I still have my braces, few more months to go and my teeth already look great. What I love the most is how the team make you feel; every time I go to my appointments I feel so welcome and at home... they make you feel part of the Meyer's family. Joan welcome you all smiles and sweet, the dental assistants and Dr. Meyer always make you feel at ease. Braces is a long process, some times your teeth hurt, the brackets and wires are not the most comfortable thing, but it is all well worth to achieve an awesome smile and the cherry on top... the great attention full of kindness from the Meyer's Team.
