Thats why we take plenty of time with every, single patient, answering questions, describing and illustrating our findings, and explaining suggested treatments. In fact, we know how to talk to kids so they feel safe and secure during any procedure.
Before becoming a dentist, Dr. Meyer graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in business. After school, he started to build a career in the banking/financial world. But he found himself unfulfilled. He enjoyed art. He liked working with his hands. He wanted to help people live healthier lives.
Dentistry seemed like a natural fit for Dr. Meyer. Eventually, he found himself shadowing a dentist and was immediately drawn to all things dentistry. After years of hard work and dedication to learning his new craft, Dr. Meyer graduated from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry. His love for learning about advancements in dental techniques and technologies continues with Dr. Meyer averaging about thirty hours of continuing education each year. He also volunteers with the Give Kids a Smile dental charity.
He was excited to create Meyer Family Dentistry and welcome patients of all ages to experience comprehensive, caring dentistry for themselves. Dr. Meyer believes in combining the art of transformative dental care, exceptional precision, and genuine compassion in a place where you can always feel at home and at ease.
When hes not in the office helping patients, youll probably find Dr. Meyer spending some quality time with his wife and two beautiful children. During tee ball and soccer season, he helps coach his kids teams. Hes also an avid fan of the Royals, Chiefs, Mizzou sports, and golfing.
Amanda has been a hygienist for 11 years. She received her Bachelors degree in Biology from Washburn University, and her dental hygiene degree here in town at Johnson County Community College. She loves meeting and getting to know patients, and loves helping people get the healthy smiles they have always wanted. Outside of the office Amanda spends her time with her husband, Jason, and their son, George. They love to travel, and cheer on the Royals and Chiefs.
Elise has been working in the dental industry for over 5 years and has been with our practice since 2016. Her love of helping people with their health concerns led her to pursue her education as a Dental Hygienist at Johnson County Community College. She provides patients with routine dental cleanings, specialized treatments for issues like gingivitis and periodontal issues, as well as providing educational support and resources for at-home care.
Outside of work, Elise is a creative problem-solver natural traits needed for both her acting pursuits and the time that she serves assisting at her local church. She and her wonderful husband Tommy also love to travel.
Carey has been working in the dental industry since 1992. Shes always had an interest in dentistry and helping people to achieve their perfect smile. She sees it as an art, and loves being able to work in a practice where she can apply her skills in a wide array of ways in order to meet the patients individual oral health needs.
Outside of work, Carey is a cake artist with her own business, Sprinkled with Sugar. Shes been able to travel with this business, has appeared in magazines, and has a Guinness World Record in the mix. Despite all this, family time is her biggest priority as she loves spending time with her family and her girls. She also finds time to volunteer with Icing Smiles and Honor Flights.
Olivia is the newest member of our team. While she may be new to us, she is not new to dentistry; she had been helping patients in Topeka until moving to the Kansas City area recently. She loves taking care of patients and making them feel as comfortable as possible.

Love Dr. Meyer and his entire team. Our family always feels welcome and part of their "family", in addition to getting great care and cleanings. I especially LOVE how amazing they are with my daughter. I always thought she needed a pediatric dentist but I'm so thankful my husband found Dr. Meyer and convinced me to take her as well. They have had so much patience with her learning how to go to the dentist.

I have nothing but positive things to say about all of my experiences here. I was nervous changing dentists after nearly 15 years of the same one before moving. All of the staff made me feel welcome and like I've been going there for years. My yearly cleanings and teeth whitening for my wedding have been superb. I would highly recommend!

This office is fabulous. Staff is always so welcoming and courteous. Even though this dentist is consider out of network, my oral health is too important to try and find a dentist within network. I have had very little out of pocket but completely worth it because of the high level of care I receive.

I LOVE YOU GUYS! I texted Dr. Meyer's emergency number on Sunday after my front tooth chipped (my dentist is in the city and on vacation this week). Dr. Meyer responded SO quickly and told me to come in at 8:30am Monday Morning. Carey at the front desk was so welcoming it was like I had been there for years and was part of the dentist family. Dr. Meyer got me in the waiting room within a few minutes of arriving and he fixed my smile! He was very quick - no pain and made me feel at home. I love my dentist but I am very tempted to switch to Meyer Family Dental! They are amazing! Thank you all!

I've been going to Dr. Meyers for years, and as of this morning my 2 and a half year old son had his first dental visit as well. The staff was incredibly helpful in slowly introducing and familiarizing him with the tools that they would be using to make sure he was comfortable. He was having so much fun by the end of the cleaning, he didn't want to let go of the suction tool. Huge thank you to everyone to help make it a great first experience!

We just switched to Dr Meyer thru a referral from a friend and he identified, diagnosed, and fixed a problem I was having where my old dentist could not. He re-did a crown, and a did a filling next to it, solving the problem and completely removing the pain I was experiencing. He made the crown right in his office while I waited. No going back in two or three weeks to get one that was made in some factory somewhere from a mold they take of your teeth. Dr Meyer didn't use a mold so I didn't have to experience that gagging issue you get from having to bite down and hold that horrible tasting mixture in your mouth while it sets up. The entire process was pain free from beginning to end! He's an awesome Dentist and we are looking forward to having him as our regular Dentist from now on.

I am very grateful for the professional and friendly service here. The front desk and all of staff have been very prompt and efficient with communicating options. They were able to get me an appointment within a week of calling for a new patient appointment. I told them I had past medical trauma and they were able to help find a female hygienist to work with me, no questions asked. I felt very supported and came away with plenty of tools and resource recommendations going forward. I feel like they helped me understand all my options really well without trying adding to my confusion and trying to sell anything extra. Quality dentist, friendly & thorough customer service, efficient communication & scheduling, + affordable options for the area. I definitely recommend!

Dr. Meyer and his team are incredible! As soon as you walk in the front Carrie is greeting you and making you feel welcome. Everything that I have had to have done has been incredible. Dr.Meyer and his dental team are fantastic about explaining everything and putting you at ease. I recently had dental bonding completed and it changed my whole smile! The procedure was painless and the best part was the bonding when onto my existing teeth so no grinding! My smile feels perfect now and I have a new confidence in my teeth that I never thought I would! I recommend them and the amazing work they do to everyone!

Wow!! The level of care that Meyer dental provides can't be matched. Carrie greets you at the front like an old friend and Dr. Meyer and his team are so friendly. It goes a long way to calming the nerves before an appointment. The care and lack of judgment made the whole process feel like it was a walk in the park. I can't recommend Meyer Family Dentistry enough!!
