Before becoming a dentist, Dr. Meyer graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in business. After school, he started to build a career in the banking/financial world. But he found himself unfulfilled. He enjoyed art. He liked working with his hands. He wanted to help people live healthier lives.
Dentistry seemed like a natural fit for Dr. Meyer. Eventually, he found himself shadowing a dentist and was immediately drawn to all things dentistry. After years of hard work and dedication to learning his new craft, Dr. Meyer graduated from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry. His love for learning about advancements in dental techniques and technologies continues with Dr. Meyer averaging about thirty hours of continuing education each year. He also volunteers with the Give Kids a Smile dental charity.
He was excited to create Meyer Family Dentistry and welcome patients of all ages to experience comprehensive, caring dentistry for themselves. Dr. Meyer believes in combining the art of transformative dental care, exceptional precision, and genuine compassion in a place where you can always feel at home and at ease.
When hes not in the office helping patients, youll probably find Dr. Meyer spending some quality time with his wife and two beautiful children. During tee ball and soccer season, he helps coach his kids teams. Hes also an avid fan of the Royals, Chiefs, Mizzou sports, and golfing.
Amanda has been a hygienist for 11 years. She received her Bachelors degree in Biology from Washburn University, and her dental hygiene degree here in town at Johnson County Community College. She loves meeting and getting to know patients, and loves helping people get the healthy smiles they have always wanted. Outside of the office Amanda spends her time with her husband, Jason, and their son, George. They love to travel, and cheer on the Royals and Chiefs.
Elise has been working in the dental industry for over 5 years and has been with our practice since 2016. Her love of helping people with their health concerns led her to pursue her education as a Dental Hygienist at Johnson County Community College. She provides patients with routine dental cleanings, specialized treatments for issues like gingivitis and periodontal issues, as well as providing educational support and resources for at-home care.
Outside of work, Elise is a creative problem-solver natural traits needed for both her acting pursuits and the time that she serves assisting at her local church. She and her wonderful husband Tommy also love to travel.
Carey has been working in the dental industry since 1992. Shes always had an interest in dentistry and helping people to achieve their perfect smile. She sees it as an art, and loves being able to work in a practice where she can apply her skills in a wide array of ways in order to meet the patients individual oral health needs.
Outside of work, Carey is a cake artist with her own business, Sprinkled with Sugar. Shes been able to travel with this business, has appeared in magazines, and has a Guinness World Record in the mix. Despite all this, family time is her biggest priority as she loves spending time with her family and her girls. She also finds time to volunteer with Icing Smiles and Honor Flights.
Olivia is the newest member of our team. While she may be new to us, she is not new to dentistry; she had been helping patients in Topeka until moving to the Kansas City area recently. She loves taking care of patients and making them feel as comfortable as possible.
