Meydenbauer Dental first opened in 1949 with the goal of providing comprehensive dental care for Seattle-area families. Originally located in Old Bellevue above Meydenbauer Bay, we relocated our practice to our current office in 2006 in order to accommodate our practice growth and better serve our patients needs. Although we have grown, we are dedicated to maintaining the sense of familiarity and an environment consistent with our practice values and beliefs:

Dr. Sugamura grew up in Seattle. He attended Seattle Prep and graduated from Garfield High School. After high school, Dr. Sugamura went to Omaha, Nebraska, to attend Creighton University and graduated from Creighton University School of Dentistry in 1990.

Growing up, Dr. Sugamura remembers how hard his father worked to provide an education for him and his siblings. His father imparted to him a work ethic and the value of family. Even though Dr. Sugamura is easy going, he maintains high expectations for himself and always strives for excellence. Dr. Sugamura 's colleagues have described him as a 'stand up guy' because of his integrity and the value he places on his family and his work. Dr. Sugamura has worked in dentistry since 1991 and has practiced at Meydenbauer Dental since 1996. His patients find that he is gentle and relaxed and a good listener. Dr. Sugamura comes to work for his patients. He believes the quality of care he provides to his patients is the most important part of his practice. He became a dentist to help people and enjoys doing so everyday. As a dentist, Dr. Sugamura has been on mission trips to Cambodia and Thailand, using his same values to provide dentistry abroad. He hopes to provide similar experiences to his children.

Dr. Sugamura and his wife, Candace, have been married since 1994. They have two sons, Colin and Cameron, and a daughter, Crysta. They enjoy many activities as a family, including, skiing, diving, participating in organized sports, and vacationing together.

Dr. Albert Lu is both a proud Bellevue native as well as a former patient of Meydenbauer Dental! After he graduated from the University of Washington, he attended the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Determined to master cutting edge dental technology, he went to Baylor College of Dentistry where he completed his Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency (AEGD). In 2006, he finally returned to his hometown and joined Meyenbauer Dental.

Dr. Lus commitment to his patients is not limited to only achieving their oral health care goals, but also building lasting relationships. He loves to treat and care for patients of all ages, and especially loves to treat and build positive dental experiences with children. A firm believer in lifetime education and learning, Dr. Lu regularly participates in Continuing Education courses to ensure that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care available.

Outside of the office, Dr. Lu loves the outdoors and community activities. You may find him playing tennis in the USTA league, snowboarding in the mountains, or serving as a youth group leader for the kids in his church. If you see him, say hello!
