Metropolitan Endodontics followed Governor Ralph Northam, Dr. Norm Oliver, Commissioner of the Virginia Department of Health executive order and the ADAs recommendations, and closed our office and limited our care to emergency and urgent cases.
We continue to stay fully committed to our community, and we will continue to do our part to control hospital emergency room traffic by treating dental emergencies here. As we are re-opening our doors, we continue to follow all guidelines to better serve our patients, community and staff. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.
We have always followed and continue to follow infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies recommendations.

Root canals are one of the most widely misunderstood dental treatments. There are so many myths surrounding the procedure, making it seem like its scary or painful, when in reality, it's not. Dr. Shambayati will make every effort to minimize any discomfort and to make your experience a positive one.
We understand that scheduling a dental visit can be a taxing task for many people. The last thing we want is to pile on additional stress by giving you vague answers about dental insurance coverage, not helping you feel comfortable, and, most importantly, making you have to hunt for a parking spot in the middle of Tysons. We have ample on-site parking so you dont have to become on-edge looking for a parking space before you even enter our office.
'Since the age of 5, I wanted to be a doctor and help people. In college, I had two best friends who wanted to go to dental school, so I started volunteering for my dentist at the time and became very interested in the field of endodontics. This led me to start applying to dental school in hopes of becoming an endodontist.
Dr. Shambayati completed her undergraduate education at George Mason University, and then she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Case Western Reserve University. She continued her education at Stony Brook University and obtained a certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry. She went on to complete a 2-year post-graduate program in endodontics at Stony Brook University and received her certificate in 2003.
Dr. Shambayati is committed to ongoing education in order to keep up to date with the latest advancements in endodontics, which is why she is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, the Virginia Dental Association, and the Northern Virginia Dental Society.
Dr. Shambayati comes from a large family, so a lot of her free time is spent with her sisters, nieces, and nephews. She also likes to take road trips with her son to explore our beautiful country, particularly the scenic bridges and roads. Dr. Shambayati is involved in her sons school and enjoys volunteering at his school. She is a big soccer and hockey fan, so at home, youll often find her cheering on her beloved Washington Capitals.
With over 23 years of experience both clinically and administratively, Traci is here to make sure your time at Metropolitan Endodontics is both efficient and productive. For her, helping people get exactly what they need is her primary goal every day. Traci has worked with Dr. Shambayati for over 17 years to be sure that goal is met. Traci is married with two children and does a lot of philanthropic work with The Epilepsy Foundation and Childrens National Hospital. She also likes to travel and experience different cultures through their food.
Manisha has been with our practice since 2016, and she actually attended school in Nepal before graduating from the Metropolitan Institute of Health and Technology. Today, she is certified in dental radiology, infection control, CPR, and HIPAA. She and her husband Sunil have a young son, and when she isnt at the office, she likes to relax by cooking and dancing (often at the same time!).

I was referred to her after a root canal from nine years ago turned into a raging infection. The prior endodontist missed a lobe of my molar. She had to deal with a difficult re-treatment. It took a lot of work over multiple sessions and rounds of antibiotics, but she was able to save my molar. The entire time she was compassionate, good-humored, and as gentle as possible. I'm completely satisfied with her work.

I cannot speak more highly of Dr. Shambayati and her caring touch and "Chair-side" compassion. I have dental phobia and she was so great. I had a root canal by another endodontist the day before having a SECOND root canal procedure with Metropolitan Endodontics, and the difference was night-and-day. Dr. Shambayati skilled hands when administering the shots was a miracle, I have severe anxiety about shots in my mouth, and I did not even feel her giving me the shots, NO OTHER Dr HAS EVER done that. Even the procedure, which is no picnic, was so much easier with her gentle touch. I had a back to back comparison to go by, and Dr. Shambayati was SOOO much better. I highly recommend anybody that has dental fear or anxiety to use this practice. They are absolutely the best.

I've had many dental issues over the years so I have been seen by various dentists. Dr. Shambayati is by far the most compassionate dentist I have ever encountered. She has addressed two different issues about 2 years apart. In each instance, she exhibited extreme patience and compassion. She addressed any pain I felt throughout the process and any question I had. She even tried to unpack possible root cause and gave advice that would hopefully prevent further damage/s to teeth. After each of the the procedures, she explained thoroughly what I should expect and what to do/not do. Also, I observed that she treats her staff with respect and fosters a friendly culture in her office. There's a positive spirit in her office. If you are looking for an extremely knowledgeable dentist with a very kind and compassionate nature, go to Dr. Shambayati. You will be in great hands and will not be disappointed.

I highly recommend Metropolitan Endodontics for any Edodontic issue you have. Dr. Shambayati is an expert, unbelievably skilled in her field. There is no one I would trust more with oral care. Everyone at the office is truly enjoyable and quality people to talk to, I cannot put into words how incredible the service and the care they provide is. They truly care about their patients, my dentist sent me there for the worst toothache I've ever had in my life when they realized I had to get a root canal, they sent me to Dr. Shambayati and regarded her very highly. As just a face they've only seen once they still remembered me weeks after when I came back in. I give Metropolitan Endodontics the highest praise, and I wish I could help them more than just giving them a review. I throughly endorse Metropolitan Endodontics.

Dr Shambayati is caring, careful, and colossally capable. She has surrounded herself with excellent staff too; Ayesha, Tracy, Jennifer -- I feel very well taken of when I arrive and after I leave they make sure to follow up. It's a very well-run office, headed by an excellent endodontist.

Called the doctor's office with horrific pain on a federal holiday and she had me in the chair being worked on within an hour! I could not recommend this practice enough and am incredibly impressed with the doctor's skill and caring nature. I absolutely detest having dental procedures done, but I can honestly say that I experienced zero pain during the root canal and am so happy my concerns were taken seriously and I was able to be seen so quickly. If you are looking for a place to have a treatment done, just stop searching and go here, you will not regret it. They deserve far more than 5 stars.

I had such a GREAT experience with Dr Shambayati and her staff. I needed two root canals done and she was able to do them both( in the same day). I had no pain the day after, nor did I have to take any painkillers! Thank God for Dr Shambayati and her staff!! Dr Shambayati you ROCK!!!! Thank you so much for you service!!! Best Endo Dr in town!!!!!

After having a sports injury and breaking my jaw, I needed several root canal procedures. Not only did Dr. Shambayati do a great job on several root canal, she was able to save one tooth in particular which had additional injury collapsing within and through her extreme professional knowledge she was able to save my tooth and prevent me from getting a dental implant for which I am great full. With all procedures I never experience pain, was always informed of what was going on and 100% stress free. I would highly recommend Dr. Shambayati.

I cannot recommend Her because she broke off part of the drill bit down in the root. She said it would be fine. Ended up needing way more work, And now have an implant instead of my tooth that cost me so much money

I was seen for a problematic tooth and I can not say enough good things about this office. The entire staff is wonderful. They are all attentive, put you at ease and keep you well informed and finally a Dr. who took her time to thoroughly get to the cause of my issues. No one wants to get a root canal but, if you need one Dr. Shambayati is the person you want to treat you. Highly recommend.
