Metropolitan Dental Specialty Group - General dentist in Silver Spring, MD

When it comes to your dental care, we dont want to make any sacrifices. Your comfort and the quality of care that you receive are top priorities. To help ensure that you receive the best possible treatments and the best treatment outcomes, Metropolitan Dental Specialty Group uses some of the latest technology available in the field of dentistry.

An intraoral camera is a tool that allows us to examine better the structures of your mouth that can be seen with the naked eye, replacing the small metal mirror that you are most likely more familiar with. Instead of leaning over your face, an optical camera on a handheld wand allows us to see the inside of your mouth on a monitor. We can snap images as well, enabling us to take a closer look while you can relax and close your mouth. With an intraoral camera, exams are much more comfortable for you as well as for us.

Digital X-rays use a digital sensor, rather than a film strip, to capture necessary X-rays of your teeth and jawbone. Instead of having to develop the film in a dark room with the use of chemicals, your X-rays are sent to a computer, and the images appear on the monitor. There is no waiting for images to be developed and no need for chemicals. There is no risk of overexposure, meaning that the likelihood your X-rays need to be taken again is significantly reduced. Moreover, we can manipulate the X-rays to more closely examine the structures within your mouth.

Cavities have traditionally been detected with a visual examination of your mouth, or with dental X-rays. While these methods can spot many cavities, there are some that develop below the surface of the enamel. These methods cannot detect these types of cavities. The Diagnodent laser is designed specifically to detect this more difficult decay, allowing for earlier detection and treatment of cavities. Instead of using a pick to check for cavities, Diagnodent uses completely harmless laser light. The light can pick up areas of decay where they might otherwise go unnoticed. The earlier they are detected, the easier cavities are to treat, and the shallower fillings may need to be. Moreover, because the process is painless, Diagnodent is perfect for detecting cavities in children and those who suffer from dental anxiety.

The soft tissue laser uses a concentrated beam of light to treat the soft tissues of your mouth. This incredible tool can do a lot. It can disinfect periodontal pockets during gum disease treatment. It can seal blood vessels and help clots to form. The laser can help to stimulate new tissue growth. It can also be used in place of a traditional scalpel for many situations, such as removing excess gum tissue. The laser is incredibly precise as well as much less invasive than a scalpel. Because of this, you experience much less pain, swelling, and bleeding. Moreover, downtime after treatments is reduced.

3D imaging is a type of imaging technology that captures 3-dimensional digital images of your mouth and skull. These images show much more detail than X-rays, giving us a view of your bone structure, the density of your bone, your soft tissues, and your nerves. Because of this, we can more accurately plan treatments for the best possible outcomes.

Cone beam CT scans are a type of 3D imaging. This specific type of technology uses a cone-shaped beam that rotates a full circle around your head. During the scan, hundreds of pictures are taken, which are then compiled together to create a singular 3-dimensional image of your mouth and skull. While commonly used for Dental Implant placement, these types of scans can also help plan other surgical procedures.

Following the placement of your implant, there is a required healing period of time. Your gum tissue will heal quickly, in just a few days, but bone tissue takes longer, possibly months. As the bone heals, it will grow around the threads bonding the implant and bone permanently together for a firm hold. Once healed, the post should be stabilized to your jaw providing a secure support for your new teeth.

Screw KALABAYO KABESELA. The cops are investigating this man for fraud because he committed fraud. We are not the only people that he's done this too. This man is not a man to trust.

This is the worst place ever! They will take your money upfront before going through your insurance just to make sure they are paid. The owner cursed me out because I inquired when I will be receiving my money back! The owner stated his practice was a 5 million dollar business! This business is a straight scam! Kalambayi kabasela was the person I was told that cursed me out & hung up the phone on me!

BEWARE OF THIS DENTAL OFFICE. If I could leave 0 stars I would. They asked me to apply for credit financing through an outside company for a service which I was CONTEMPLATING. After they gave me the price, I declined the service, they told me that the consultation was free. However 2 months after my visit, without letting me know I found out that they STILL billedthe financial credit service. Even though I never signed any paperwork, nor did they give me a bill after my visit. These people are sneaky and deceitful. Now I am stuck paying a financing service for treatment that I did not receive and I have to take care of this legally. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS.

Everyone here is fantastic. To a person, they are all very caring, gentle, and kind. I've never felt unsafe or rushed. The office is clean and open enough to be totally comfortable. I can not recommend them enough.

The staff here are friendly and upbeat. The environment is relaxing and the dentists and hygienists are very professional. They are also very serious about the COVID-19 crisis. Hygienists wear environmental suits during cleanings, and they take every precaution from temperature screening at the door, to providing masks, to social distancing in their waiting room.
