Dr. Merski is an Erie native who graduated from Cathedral Prep High School. He earned his bachelor of science degree in 1976 and his doctorate of medical dentistry (DMD) in 1980, both from the University of Pittsburgh. He has been practicing since 1980 and continues to stay on the advancing edge of modern dentistry with the American Dental Association (ADA) certified post-graduate courses. Dr. Merski has also studied with nationally-recognized sleep apnea expert Dr. John Herald.
Dr. Merski enjoys fishing and boating on Lake Erie, where he is commonly known as Captain Ron, traveling with his wife of 25+ years, Patty. Dr. Ron and Patty are the proud parents of Aaron, Alexandra, and Luke.
Aaron Merski DMD was born and raised in Erie, PA, graduating from Cathedral Prep in 2009. Aaron continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh where he earned his bachelor of science in neuroscience in 2013. After finishing dental school in Florida at LECOM, Aaron moved back to Erie and began working with his father, Ron Merski DMD, at Merski Dental.
He is proud to carry on his familys legacy of comprehensive dental care to the Erie community, alongside his wife Rania Merski DMD. Aaron enjoys spending time on the beaches of Lake Erie, playing the piano, and being surrounded by friends and family. He is eager to continue serving his hometowns oral needs in the most exceptional and compassionate way possible!
Raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Dr. Rania received her Bachelors degree in Biology with honors at the University of North Florida. In 2017 she received her Doctorate in Dental Medicine (DMD) from LECOM School of Dental Medicine, where she met her husband Dr. Aaron. Following this, Dr. Rania moved to Erie and practiced alongside Dr. Ronald Merski in addition to other private and corporate practices. Committed to continuously expanding her dental education, Dr. Rania is a member of the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, Erie County Dental Association, and American Academy of Facial Esthetics.
Outside the office, Dr. Rania enjoys spending time with family and friends, boating, cooking, watching football (Go Jaguars!), and being a cat mom to Beverly. Dr. Rania is currently accepting new patients and providing a wide range of dental services, in addition to botox and fillers. Together with her husband, she strives to provide quality dental care in a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere.

I'm not one to take time to write reviews but this practice needed mentioned. I had an onset of an abscessed tooth. My current dentist no longer took my insurance. I had called around looking for a new dentist in a somewhat emergency time frame. Most did not take new patients or were scheduled out a month or more. I ran across Merski Dental in my searches with great reviews. I called them and Valerie (very friendly) at the front desk was quicky able to get me into the office to be seen and they set me up with an antibiotic to start the process. The pain worsened in the next couple days awaiting my appt and the office worked me in for a root canal within days in between appts and accommodating my schedule as well as theirs. I've had a root canal in the past and didn't like to hear I needed one. Dr. Aaron and his team got me into their office, and I have to say it was the most painless experience for a root canal I have ever had. Very friendly staff, accommodating, and honest practice. Within a few hours after the procedure, I had no tooth pain and even the soreness from the work being done was virtually non-existent after. Fantastic office and very caring and friendly staff. 100% recommended.

Last week I had my third visit with Dr. Merski to fix my tooth. Dr. Merski is a professional with a high sense of empathy and patience for cases like mine. All of his staff are friendly, and they always make me feel comfortable and safe since I don't like doctor's offices. I recommend 100% his services.

I have a difficult time with going to the dentist; traumatic experiences with other dentists, severe anxiety & depression all play a huge role. I was recommended to Merski by a family friend and they by far have been the best Dentistry office I have ever been to- (I've been to at least 10) I trust them, and they go out of their way to make me feel comfortable and relaxed. My experience here is so glowing, that I choose to continue getting my dental work done here, rather than at an office that is able to accept my insurance. They are efficient, skilled and SO friendly. I've never felt judged or shamed here, and I've always felt like I was in excellent hands. I'll also add that their receptionist is the most friendly receptionist I've ever encountered. I'm so appreciative of her kindness and her light; makes going to the dentist that much easier!

I've been a patient at Merski Dental for 40 years. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. I'm so glad that with Dr. Ron's retirement, there will be no cessation of services as the mantle has been passed from father to son and daughter-in-law. My husband has been going there for 40 years as well. And our children, until they moved away from the area, went there from birth too and not a single cavity/filling do my three children have. If that's not a recommendation and endorsement, I don't know what it!

I honestly can not say enough about this office. From Valerie at the front desk to Dr Aaron and Dr Rania, the dental assistants to Kelly when you check out. I have high anxiety and they talk me through everything. They don't make you feel bad for having anxiety either. Everyone is so nice, every single time I have gone not just here and there. & they have always fit me in to the schedule even on short notice. Highly recommended if you are looking for a clean and safe experience that coincides with a great team!
