Dr. Phelps attended Arizona State University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences. He attended Western University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree.
Dr. Phelps is passionate about meeting the individual needs of his patients. The most fulfilling part of dentistry for Dr. Phelps is when an anxious patient who usually avoids visiting the dental office expresses how comfortable and at ease they feel while working with him. Dr. Phelps pursued dentistry to help people with their dental health.
Dr. Phelps and his wife have three children, as well as a golden retriever and a labradoodle puppy. The kids and puppies keep them busy, but they wouldnt have it any other way! When he does have some free time, he enjoys reading Harry Potter, sitting by a campfire, or plotting shenanigans with his kids and friends.

I had been with my previous dentist in Gilbert, AZ since 1997. When I moved to Anthem at Merrill Ranch in Florence, AZ in June 2022, I had to find a new dentist due to the commute being nearly an hour to Gilbert. After communicating with Jessica at Merrill Ranch Family Dental, she was a warm and a welcomed voice on the phone. All my fears and anxiety disappeared. At my first appointment, Jen, Kim, Margie, the rest of the staff and Dr. Phelps made me feel very welcomed. They listened to my concerns about my gums and answered all my questions. Special thanks to everyone! You all have a very special group at the practice!

I am new to Florence Arizona and needed to be seen ASAP. When I called this Dental office I was treated with such concern with my dental issue she was able to get me right in to see a Dentist. The Dentist I saw was very caring and straightforward, thank you for that. I'm not one for Dental office's but this office gave me calming affect

I just moved from Seattle a month ago. Yesterday I lost my crown. Desperately I looked a dentist in Florence. My neighbors recommended Merrill Ranch Dental. They got me in. Seeded my crown and everyone was so nice and helpful. I recommend them highly. They are my great find. It was painless. Thank you for getting me in so quick!

All the staff including the doctor and his wife are very friendly. Felt like I got a very good cleaning. I liked that the doctor pointed out a couple of things but wasn't in a hurry to put a sell job on me to get them fixed

Before my move to AZ, I was struggling with a painful root canal (4 months). My husband found Merrill Ranch Family Dental and recommended that I check in with them. Loved them all...from the front to the back!!! Attentive to my need, professional, interactive, happy and eliminated my problem after months of pain! Wish I could give them a 10!!
