Dr. Merrell grew up in Hendersonville, NC and graduated from West Henderson High School. While growing up, Dr Merrell was always working in and around his fathers dental office which allowed him to experience the profession of dentistry early on.
Dr. Merrell received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at North Carolina State University. While at North Carolina State University, Dr. Merrell was a walk-on to NCSUs baseball team and played for two years.
Dr. Merrell treats patients in a caring and relaxing atmosphere while providing outstanding dental services for the Monroe, NC and surrounding areas. He is a member of American Dental Association and South Carolina Dental Association while maintaining licenses in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida. Outside dentistry, Dr. Merrell likes travel, fitness, and is an avid golfer.

We love this dentist office. They are very accommodating to fit you in and they are all extremely friendly and helpful. The dentist is fun and really good at what he does. The best dentist I've ever been to. I'm so glad I found this office and I will continue to come here. Thank you all!!

Recently my husband and I had appointments in Dr. Merrell's office. After losing faith in and feeling skeptical with my prior dentist it was a PLEASURE to be seen in his office. From the time you walk into the door through the entire visit you feel welcome. It was a pleasant visit. They patiently listen to you, are understanding and allow for questions. Dr. Merrell you definitely have new patients in us.

I had my first appointment with Merrill Smiles this morning. Walked in the door and was greeted with "Hi Jill". The entire staff treated me as if I had know them forever. Absolutely love my decision to change. The nice gift bag was a bonus. I highly recommend this Dental office.

Can't stop smiling! Always afraid of dentist. After finally working up nerve to make appointment was immensely pleased with staff and Dr Merrill. I was very self conscious, tried to hide smile, and didn't talk much. (that part was depressing). I never felt I was judged. I'm called Smiley at work now. You guys made an immense difference. I haven't been to a dentist in some time and really didn't want to go. From the time I walked into the office, I felt relaxed. Sandra was at the front desk and was helpful and extremely nice. The hygienist was gentle and talked to me the entire time. Again making me relaxed. Dr Merrell came into the room and examined my mouth and was extremely thorough and took the time to explain everything to me. I did not get a sticker though for being a great patient, lol! I won't wait so long to go back next time. A+

I had an incident that happen on Saturday that I needed some quick service done to my tooth. I was able to go online and do an appointment request. I was able to choose three different time that fit my schedule. I was contacted early that Monday morning and had my appointment today. Everything went well!
