Summer is the time for outdoor sports and you can protect your teeth, cheeks, gums and lips with a low-cost mouth guard. It could save you from a knocked out or chipped tooth, and it will prevent you from grinding your teeth during the big game.
No really, just dont. Weve all seen someone open a bottle with their teeth. An amazing feat? Nope, but a great way to cause micro fractures in your teeth. Using your teeth to rip open potato chip bags or to crush ice are also no nos.
The short answer is no. You most likely cannot sunburn your teeth. Shwew! Your lips on the other hand can sunburn. In fact, your lips might be the most susceptible to sunburn. Its important not to rely on regular sunscreen to protect your lips, choose a lip balm with a minimum of SPF 15. It is designed for your lips, and it will stick better. And just like with sunscreen, remember to reapply it every couple hours.
There are lots of reasons to smile all summer long. Evidence suggests that smiling reduces stress and helps your heart. So show those teeth! Brush twice a day, floss daily and smile big. You'll feel better when you do.

I had my annual teeth cleaning done by Shannon, a dental hygienist at Merit Dental in Macedonia. OH and I want to go on record that I have been to several dental hygienists in my years of going to the dentist, and Shannon has outshine them all! Shannon makes you feel at ease and removes any anxiety you may have coming in for your annual teeth cleaning. Shannon is people friendly and has a great sense of humor and leaves just smiling. You look forward to seeing Shannon on your next visit. I highly recommend Shannon as your next dental hygienist ar Merit Dental.

Sad to say but this dental office has gone downhill after Merit took over from Dr. Mario and Dr. Tom. I had been with them for decades. Now there are multiple cancelations and turnover of Doctors and staff. Not happy with the dental care I have received.

We were patients at this location prior to Merit Dental taking over. Our entire family would always be on the no cavities board. Now, every one of us seems to have issues with our teeth- in their opinion. 1.My daughter had an appointment to have sealants on her molars. She came out with 2 fillings!! Now she has pain in her tooth. Sent her back up, they said the filling is near her nerve and she may need a root canal! Again, she was supposed to just have sealants on her teeth! Mind you, we paid for the fillings and the recheck on her molars! Now they want to charge us for a root canal that she never needed!! 2. The doctor seems like she is never there. Go in for a cleaning and have to come back again to see the dentist for 5 minutes. 3. My husband received a call canceling his appointment because they didnt have a hygienist for him. The message told him to call back IN A FEW WEEKS to see if they can reschedule him. 4. The office staff isn't nearly as efficient and friendly as the Five Points Staff was. They fumble through check out as if they've never worked on these computers before. It shouldn't take 10 minutes to check out. We're so disappointed in Merit Dental and we won't be back. P.S. when looking at the reviews, please note that most of the 5 stars were from when it was Five Points dentistry! The poor reviews are for Merit!

I had a less than satisfactory visit in November, 2021 and I called the office to let them know. I expected that perhaps the office manager would call me to discuss my concerns, but I never heard from anyone. I now have dental insurance and Merit is not on the provider list, so I will not be returning.

I had an excellent experience with deep cleaning treatment performed by Melanie. She made me feel very relaxed it was totally pain-free and I recommend merit dental to my neighbors family and friends.

This practice has gone downhill since the corporate Merit takeover. I have gone to another practice since Merit seems to care more about the $$$s than the patient. There also seems to be a lot of turnover in staff.

I have nothing but the highest praise for all the employees at Merit Dental. From the courteous reminder calls the day before each appointment, to the warm welcome at the front desk, the support staff is terrific. I received a fantastic care from Dr. Habib Ghorbaniparvar, who has recently left the practice. He was a kind and caring man. Fortunately, I am now under the care of Dr Dan Hagigi, who is also warm and personable and very professional. Gina, one of the dental assistants, is consistently thorough, very knowledgeable, and a kind and caring person. I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for excellent dental care.

I have been coming to this office for many years. This place used to be amazing. When the ownership changed a year ago, the place went bad fast. The desk staff is rude, and scheduling an appointment was done with eye rolls when i asked for a different day, and a rudely stated answer to another simple question. The hygenists are okay, but the general feel in the office went from obviously satisfied staff with good attitudes to staff just there to get a pay check. Gone are the pleasantries and kindness. Go somwhere else.
