Summer is the time for outdoor sports and you can protect your teeth, cheeks, gums and lips with a low-cost mouth guard. It could save you from a knocked out or chipped tooth, and it will prevent you from grinding your teeth during the big game.

The short answer is no. You most likely cannot sunburn your teeth. Shwew! Your lips on the other hand can sunburn. In fact, your lips might be the most susceptible to sunburn. Its important not to rely on regular sunscreen to protect your lips, choose a lip balm with a minimum of SPF 15. It is designed for your lips, and it will stick better. And just like with sunscreen, remember to reapply it every couple hours.
There are lots of reasons to smile all summer long. Evidence suggests that smiling reduces stress and helps your heart. So show those teeth! Brush twice a day, floss daily and smile big. You'll feel better when you do.

I have extreme anxiety when it comes to the dentist. I had multiple bad experiences in the past and this is the last place I wanted to be. However, this experience was completely different. Michelle, my hygienist was FABULOUS. Michelle made me feel so comfortable in the most uncomfortable time. She did everything to distract me during my deep cleaning. Colleen and Pam who work in the office are so very kind, there energy is like they have known you forever. Dr. B was also wonderful. He took the time to explain things and with the help of Michelle, I will have the best smile for my upcoming wedding. I HIGHLY recommend Merit, especially if you are a nervous nelly like I am. Thank you Michelle and all the staff at Merit. I will see you in December for my next cleaning!

I have anxiety going to the dentist. A bad experience when I was younger. Hygienist Michelle puts me at ease and makes me laugh during my cleaning appointment. Dr. Tisdale is so kind and gentle and makes me feel at ease during every procedure. Dr. Tisdale has an excellent staff including those that manage the front desk who are very friendly and inviting when you arrive.

Dr. Tisdale and the whole staff are amazing! They are attentive to your dental needs and make sure you are seen as soon as possible for regular maintenance, or on an emergency basis.

I went to see Merit Dental for a plan to fix my teeth . I hadn't been to a dentist in a couple of years so I needed some work done . Dr Tisdale was very nice a forthright about all aspects of what I needed . Fair pricing and very upfront about everything. I highly recommend this dentist office.

Michelle is the BEST dental hygienist ever. I absolutely HATE going to the dentist.. more than the average person due to past experiences. Ever since I've been coming to Dr. Tisdale's office it has been nothing but wonderful. Michelle puts me at ease by making me laugh. Dr. Tisdale is always very gentle and explains what he's doing in detail. Colleen and the office manager always make you feel welcome and appreciated as a patient.

I am just like my dad when it comes to dentist visits and care of my teeth. Scared, uneasy, and sensitive. However, everyone made it comfortable as they always do for me as well as my dad which is why we stayed with Merit Dental. Dr. Miller was great and will be missed but you can tell that Merit Dental expects the same type of care out of everyone since we received once again great care and consideration of how we feel about dental work and regular visits.
