Summer is the time for outdoor sports and you can protect your teeth, cheeks, gums and lips with a low-cost mouth guard. It could save you from a knocked out or chipped tooth, and it will prevent you from grinding your teeth during the big game.

No really, just dont. Weve all seen someone open a bottle with their teeth. An amazing feat? Nope, but a great way to cause micro fractures in your teeth. Using your teeth to rip open potato chip bags or to crush ice are also no nos.

The short answer is no. You most likely cannot sunburn your teeth. Shwew! Your lips on the other hand can sunburn. In fact, your lips might be the most susceptible to sunburn. Its important not to rely on regular sunscreen to protect your lips, choose a lip balm with a minimum of SPF 15. It is designed for your lips, and it will stick better. And just like with sunscreen, remember to reapply it every couple hours.

There are lots of reasons to smile all summer long. Evidence suggests that smiling reduces stress and helps your heart. So show those teeth! Brush twice a day, floss daily and smile big. You'll feel better when you do.

Poor new hygienist. Refused to clean my teeth because I had periodontal disease. What kind of people are they hiring. The entire staff is new and not patient ordinant.

I have been to 5 or 6 dental practices in my 40 adult years and this office is more professional than any of them. Very detailed with procedures, expectations, and expenses. Doctor O'Sullivan and her assistants are awesome! Everyone is the perfect balance of personable and professional.

I have been a patient since year 88. I have not been more disappointed with this dental practice as I have in the past year. I am overdue for a routine cleaning. It has been over a year with staffing issues, rescheduled appt.,to canceled appt by there office, to on a wait list with no appt. booked. Finally, I have an appt. for this Dec. 22 and it will be 1 year 6mo when I am to have a routine visit ev. 6mo. This would not be the case if Dr. Fabri were still on board. Maybe it is time for a new office and one who cares about its long term patients.

Ive had numerous extended waits only to be cancelled, and one rescheduled visit I showed up only to find it had never been made. Ive now been on a wait since September and haven't heard from them. Ive since found a new dentist, went, and have a second visit already planned.

I had to have 4 extractions done by Dr. Sarah O'Sullivan. Couldn't of had a better person to complete this procedure and put in full upper dentures. She is a Saint!

I waited 5 months for this appointment and they called me four days before my appointment to cancel because they do not have a dental hygienist. She asked me to come in at a later date to have X-rays so the dentist could insure there are no issues, but I would need to find another dentist office for my cleaning. Unbelievable! You want to bill my insurance for X-rays, but you cannot see me???? Unacceptable, unprofessional, borderline....

On Thursday, April 21st, I received a call from Merit Dental that they received my Crowns & gave me an Appointment for April 26th at 8am. The lady that called me then mentioned that i owed approx $5,000 for this procedure. This caught me by surprise because i was under the impression that this procedure was paid for. Apparently I was wrong & i immediately called my stock broker and cashed in $5,000 worth of my Apple stock. I was told that the deposit to my bank account would be sent to my bank account by Tuesday or Wed. of next week. The day of my appointment i checked my bank account & found that the 5k was not yet deposited so I printed out my stock transaction to show Merit Dental that my 5K would deposited sometime today or no later than Wed. I went to my appt on the 26th & was immediately told that the procedure would not be done until the 5k was paid. I showed the customer service rep my printout but i was told that i would have to reschedule the appt to the amount was paid. I told her that i have been waiting approx 5 months to get these crowns put in & i was not going to reschedule this appointment I became very upset about this & ask the rep if i could speak with the office mngr. She said that the office manager was at another facility. I asked the rep to call that facility that i would like to speak to her. She was "not available" to speak with me. Again I was very upset about the situation but i decided to go ahead & pay with my Debit card because i wanted to get this procedure taken care of. The dentist who did my procedure did a great job & she, along with the dental hygienist was very nice & professional. The point is that i am 75 years old & have been a happy customer with Merit Dental & Blymire dental for over 60 years I started with this company when i was 5 years old & have always paid my bills on time & have an over 800 credit score. If u go back over my financial records u will find this to be accurate. I realize that we are no longer in the past decades & everything is now computerized and incorporated bit i just found it hard to believe that i couldn't be trusted for one more day to pay this bill. I am to old to change dentists now but i think your company needs to be a little less "black & white" & be a little more flexible to your good clients. Again, I want to express that the dentist & the hygienist did a fantastic job & were very professional. Thank you Jeff Pokopec

My husband went there years ago where a dentist who isn't there anymore convinced him to get veneers which is where you shave your teeth down and put caps on top of them bc he was insecure about the front gap between his front two teeth. This was when veneers were first popular. He's to this day very insecure about his teeth bc of that and a cap fell a tooth but thankfully then they did get him in quickly to place it back on. Fast forward to today , 3/30/2022, it's very difficult to get an appointment in if you have to reschedule as they say they are short staffed with hygienists. I haven't had my teeth cleaned since before Covid bc I am a nurse with a crazy schedule and I had to reschedule so many times and today I had to reschedule and now they can't get me in until December 2022. Looking elsewhere. Also their turnover rate is so high and I have had to have a cavity refilled there bc the one a previous dentist placed became loose. So fun... not! Dissatisfied and finally done with them. We've been going there there for years and years but never knowing who's going to work on our mouth this time to the next appointment. Looking elsewhere and I recommend that you do too as they probably won't be able to work you in due to their shortage but mind you I also feel uncomfortable with them working on my teeth at this point too. Today was just the last straw for me.
