Summer is the time for outdoor sports and you can protect your teeth, cheeks, gums and lips with a low-cost mouth guard. It could save you from a knocked out or chipped tooth, and it will prevent you from grinding your teeth during the big game.
No really, just dont. Weve all seen someone open a bottle with their teeth. An amazing feat? Nope, but a great way to cause micro fractures in your teeth. Using your teeth to rip open potato chip bags or to crush ice are also no nos.
The short answer is no. You most likely cannot sunburn your teeth. Shwew! Your lips on the other hand can sunburn. In fact, your lips might be the most susceptible to sunburn. Its important not to rely on regular sunscreen to protect your lips, choose a lip balm with a minimum of SPF 15. It is designed for your lips, and it will stick better. And just like with sunscreen, remember to reapply it every couple hours.
There are lots of reasons to smile all summer long. Evidence suggests that smiling reduces stress and helps your heart. So show those teeth! Brush twice a day, floss daily and smile big. You'll feel better when you do.

Ok so, here we go! I have 2 young kids (who basically live off of chicken nuggets and icecream) & aren't too fond of dentists/doctors- HOWEVER we took both of them here and the staff is SO kind and made the ENTIRE experience so much fun for them, they are actually looking forward to their next appt in 6months. They were super gentle and made the visit one giant "game" for them to earn goodies for home! I never in my life have seen or been to a place that is so kid friendly & kid welcoming! Now for me, I hadn't been to the dentist in 10 years (I know....) and for the same reasons but again this practice and the staff had made my appt not only enjoyable, relaxing (surprisingly) and after it was over, I am looking forward to my 6mo checkup with them. They were very endearing, professional and kept the mood light which was a nice change from what I've experienced in the past with OTHER dental offices. Overall, HIGHLY recommend!

Love the staff. LaNiece is one of the best dental assistants I've had work on me. And although Dr. McBride is a recent addition, I can't say enough great things about her. Professional, thorough, and caring--just what you want in a dentist. Overall, you're getting a class act from the welcome in the office to your seat in the dentist's chair. Great experience!!!

I have been perfectly satisfied with my care at Merit Dental, but am always apprehensive when a new dentist joins the practice. And always relieved when they prove to also be very good. The new dentist continues the trend. She is gentle and easy to talk to about my fears and apprehensions. She's another gem, along with all of the staff there!

If you are looking for a new dentist, your search is over. My husband and I have been patients here for many years, and if I could rate them with more stars, I would! The entire staff are professional, compassionate, friendly and kind. The quality of care, and dental work we've had done is absolutely stellar. Now a days, it isn't easy to rely on kindness and caring, but you can here. They will take good care of you. Highly recommend!

I chipped a tooth on Wednesday night but didn't realize it until Thursday morning. I called the office around 12:15 and had an appointment at 1:10. It was fixed and I was on my way home by 1:30. Great service and excellent work.

We LOVE the staff at Merit Dental. Everyone is so kind and genuine. Have never laughed so much at a dental appointment before . The care and attention to detail is amazing! Highly recommend them.

Everyone was very comforting from the receptionist to the dental assistant to the hygienist to the doc....I was very pleased with everyone. You have a great staff here. I was able to receive all the treatment all in the same day, and im happy with the work

Gotta say this place rocks!! When it comes to customer service other places treat you like a number. Kelly and Cathy really do go above and beyond to meet the needs of the patient. When you fell that the prices are a bit steep they explain to you why they are and sometimes help you out on the bill. I have been in customers service business for 10+ years and its refreshing to visit a place where the staff is dress professionally and the energy is always upbeat. Keep it up guys.

I have been a patient of Dr. Magnuson's for years, and it's always been a great experience. I have never experienced one bit of pain, as I had with dentists in the past. (sorry Doc...you can never retire :) Along with being so good at what he does, Dr. Magnuson is very friendly, as is the rest of the staff. I highly recommend this office.
