Dr. Colton Charles was born and raised in nearby McCall, Idaho and is the oldest of five siblings. From a young age, he wanted to be a dentist just like his father. Growing up in the small mountain town, Dr. Charles spent most of his time fishing, hiking, camping, and skiing. After high school, he attended Oregon State University and then went on to graduate dental school at Oregon Health and Science University. Shortly after dental school, Dr. Charles took a position at a childrens clinic where he developed a passion for working with kids. This led him to pursue specialty training in pediatric dentistry at NYU Langone Hospitals Pediatric Dental Residency program. Dr. Charles now has over 10 years of experience exclusively treating infants through teens.

The staff is really friendly making my children feel very comfortable. The doctor is very charismatic with the children making them very calm and relaxed. I would recommend this dentist office to anyone.

We had our first visit with Dr. Charles and the kids loved it! We were referred by a friend and I can't thank her enough for referring us here. The kids have been back a few times since our first cleaning visit and he is so patient with the kids and explains everything to them which is so important! Dr. Charles is very knowledgeable and explains everything to me, and makes it so comfortable for the kids! We are so happy to have found a forever dentist! All his staff are also great and very nice! They love coming here and can't wait to be back already!

We had a great first experience at Happy Campers Dentistry! The nurses were so sweet, and the doctor was very nice and informative. The office also had the cutest set up! We look forward to future visits!

I can't say enough good things about this place! Dr and the assistant that helped my daughter made us feel so happy! We transferred to this office because a different pediatric dental place was not patient. I am beyond satisfied with the amount of patience, kindness, caring and effort their team makes for children!! Thank you Happy Camper staff!

Great, friendly staff. Everyone is always great with the kiddos. We were reluctant with the new Dr taking over the practice but he's been amazing with all of my kiddos at each visit! Thank you for a smooth transition and the fantastic care! I keep thinking I need to get a closer dentist to home but every time we leave, I'm reminded why we choose to stay!

I am so happy we switched to Happy Campers. They are amazing with my autistic son. They are able to get him to do so much more than any other dentist office has! My neurotypical daughter loves it there too and looks forward to going. Everyone from the front desk to the hygienists to the dentist are so nice and create a welcoming environment. As a parent of a child with special needs I am so thankful to have found them!!

Happy Campers is hands down the best pediatric dentistry in the entire State of Idaho. I have 4 children, and have been to many dentists. This place stands out. From the moment you enter, you are greeted with the most friendly smiles from all of the staff. Wait times are short and appointment times are always met. And Dr. Colton Charles was born to be a pediateict dentist! He is just so good with the kids, while also being incredibly professional. I highly recommend this dentist if you're looking.

Our experience with Dr. Charles and the staff at Happy Campers has been the best dentist office experience we have ever had! Our youngest child is on the spectrum and we've never had success with a dentist - until now. She was able to stay in the seat and complete a difficult procedure. I almost cried! I could not be more proud of the way our family (and this situation) was treated. I highly recommend Happy Campers!

Dr Colton Charles is the kindest dentist I've ever met. He made it clear that his job is to take care of their teeth, but also to make sure they don't get scared of the dentist. He explained every detail to our children before he did anything. After the first visit, there is already so much trust.

Dr. Charles and his staff are top notch! We take our 9 kids to have their cleanings and check ups done and they are so accommodating to all of the different ages and needs! They are patient, gentle and talk to the kids like real people! Dr. Charles is not pushy and takes the time to hear our concerns and what our preference is for our kids and happily accommodates. He is also very knowledgeable and explains the treatment options that are available but leaves the decisions up to us. We have been back for several visits and its is always the same level of quality care and excellence! Our 4 year old actually asks to go back to see the dentist all the time because she had such a wonderful experience! I think that says it all! A++++

Very personable, welcoming and organized. My littles (8, 5, & 3) had a great experience at the dentist office and can't wait to go back. Which was not the case during their visit before the changes and the new dentist.
