Dr. Patel grew up in North Attleboro Massachusetts where he graduated from high school in the top 10% of his class in 1995. He attended and graduated from Tufts University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry in 1999. Dr. Patel has always been passionate about oral cancer and was a research associate at Harvard University studying oral cancer while publishing several research papers in prestigious scientific journals. In 2006 Dr. Patel graduated from the University of Connecticut School Dental Medicine with a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree.
After dental school, Dr. Patel completed his residency program at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, NY where he obtained extensive experience in all aspects of modern dental care which includes placing/restoring dental implants, third molar extractions, molar root canals, and cosmetic dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Connecticut State Dental Association (CSDA), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM) and the Middlesex County Dental Society.
Continuing his ideal of excellence in dentistry, Dr. Patel persists with continuing education courses on implants, root canals, and cosmetic dentistry. He is active in the community volunteering for both CTMOM (Connecticut Mission of Mercy) and Give Kids a Smile day where he provides free dental care to the underserved people of Connecticut. He is also a board member of the Hispanic Alliance, which provides scholarships, loans and mentorship to the Hispanic community of south east Connecticut. When he is not working, Dr. Patel likes to spend time with his family, travel, read, play basketball and has recently taken up golf.

I have been with this dental office for many years with both myself and 2 children, now adult children. I have to say they are great in the aspect of dental procedures but customer service they are below satisfactory. My daughter recently missed 2 appts. Due to an honest scheduling error and prior to that she had one missed appt over that past several years ( not to mention they charged $50 for the miss) which I am okay with because time is valuable, But because she has 3 they will no longer see her as a patient! I have great insurance so I'll have no problem getting her in somewhere, along with myself because I am moving myself and other daughter as well! It just goes to show these places truly only care about the dollar and not the patient.

(Original) Definitivamente no se lo recomiendo a nadie,para platificarme 2 muelas me dislocaron la quijada,no me habia dado cuenta pq al estar tan anestesiada no lo sentia pero al irse el efecto de la anestesia me dolia y no podia abrir la boca,a mi esposo no le explicaron el prosedimiento que tenian que hacerle para la corona y le desgastaron el diente a lo cual el no hubiera aceptado si el doctor se hubiera tomado el tiempo de informarle con detalle,para el colmo le pusieron mal el diente provisional y se le filtro agua y comida por lo que tuvo q regresar 1 semana despues a que se lo arreglaran,intentaron ponerle la corona pero no le sirvio pq la ensia se expandio con todo el embarre de pegamento y el mal trabajo que le hicieron,ahora le mandaron a hacer otra corona y debe esperar cm 2 semanas mas,vuelvo y exorto a las personas que visiten un mejor dentista...

I don't even know where to start. I am not sure if they know how much of a help they were to me. Empathetic, patient and reassuring these people not only communicated well, but made me feel at ease. As someone with anxiety I not only appreciated their reassurance, but am incredibly grateful. I had brackets stuck on my teeth from braces I had put in almost 4 to 5 years ago and was too ashamed and embarrassed to follow up on. I was told in other dental places it would take 2 to 3 appointments before I could start the process of getting those brackets removed, The Family Dental did this AND cleaned my teeth in the very first appointment I scheduled with them. I have felt insecure about my smile for years. And for years people would remind me of how yellow and how clearly neglected they were. To say the least a younger me gave up. And today I feel like I have been given a second chance. I can't begin to express the relief I feel. I finally have my smile back. These people to say the least are amazing. Go to them. They'll take care of you. As they did me. Thank you.

The my dental hygienist Nikki was the best. I walked in just for basic cleaning came out looking feeling phenomenal. I had a great experience. She explains everything well-detailed and very professional. I will be booking my children.

SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL. Do not take your kids here, the doctors do not have ANY type of consideration. They will traumatize you're child and not care!! He put a needle to my 4 year olds gum when the numbing didn't even settle yet and WALKED AWAY once my kid started crying. Do not accept kids as patients if you do not have the patience.

service was good but cleaning prices are excessive I paid 130.00 with discount card but my father went to a dentist for a cleaning with no insurance and only paid 79.00 i'm wondering should i have said i have no insurance and then gave my discount card? or would that be too dishonest?
