From the moment you walk in, it is our priority to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. Delivering high-quality periodontal care is at the core of everything we do. Our periodontist, Dr. Uzel, has over 25 years of clinical experience and is the only board-certified periodontist currently practicing in Princeton. Having earned the title of Doctor of Science in Bone Biology, Dr. Uzel takes a scientific, evidence-based approach to treating his patients.
Dr. Ilhan Uzel attended Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine where he earned a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD), a Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies in Periodontology and Doctor of Science (D.Sc) in Oral Biology. He successfully completed the American Board of Periodontology exams and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology in 2006. Dr. Uzel has proudly held faculty positions at Boston University School of Dental Medicine and at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine where he was involved in clinical and basic science research on periodontal disease, connective tissue, implantology and bone biology. He coauthored many scientific articles and book chapters on the findings of his research. From his scientific background, Dr. Uzel takes an evidence-based approach to treatment in order to recommend the most suitable treatments.
Outside of the office, Dr. Uzel enjoys traveling, exploring the culinary arts, and discussing European cinema. He speaks fluent Turkish, French and English. In addition, he loves playing and watching soccer, rugby and basketball. On game days you can find him cheering for the Boston Celtics and Galatasaray S.K. He is the proud father of his son, Doruk. He currently lives in Plainsboro, NJ

The staff is phenomenal. Every time I go I get excellent care and an greeted with kindness. The office is also very beautiful. Would 100% recommend!

it has been 2-1/2 years now that i been seeing Tara for deep cleaning every 3 months .. and i have complete and total trust with her to provide me the best care and she is exceptional .. knowledgeable, , super ,, i cannot use enough adjective to say how great she is .. i never knew how much plaque and tartar that gets in your teeth in such a short time ,, that Tara removes each time .. my prior poor experiences ,, at several places in my area of south brunswick ,, i neglected my teeth for a few years ... and was recommended to Dr. Uzel .. and now my health has gone back to normal .and very happy too .... Read other reviews here in google about Tara ,, and it is all true how she is top tier in her profession. .. i was very impressed with 3D xrays ,, to see my problem.. and the past year,,, they now have digital xrays ,, instead of the old film type .. i am very pleased that i did not have to undergo any serious procedure,, but i also am very confident that Dr. Uzel will be the best too ..

I had weird experience at 601 Ewing Street Suite B-15 Princeton. I was referred by another dentist to visit for deep cleaning. To my surprise I need a 3d X-ray which is not covered by insurance to start with and this piece of information was not shared at front desk to check with insurance or cross check what is it for. I feel lack of transparency in communicating costs and procedures. PS: This is my experience may not be applicable for everyone and I felt worth share as I use reviews extensively

Upon entering the office, I was greeted with a huge smile at reception. I can't say enough nice things about the staff and care I received. I had two major tooth extraction and bone graft for implant last Wednesday, and Dr Uzel did excellent work; he is kind, calm and friendly. Thank you, Mercer Center's staff and Dr Uzel.

I have had many dental surgeries over my life. I was referred to Dr. Uzel's office for a crown lengthening procedure. I hate going to the dentist, but his office was so accommodating, easy to talk to. Before my crown lengthening procedure, I had to get a deep clean that required lidocaine injections which absolutely terrify me. The staff was gentle, and explained every part of the procedure. They even put as much topical as I wanted to make me feel comfortable before the injections. Today was the crown lengthening procedure and they explained every step of the way. They are all very through and understanding of the benefits to make sure that you are comfortable with payment, procedures, etc. I highly recommend this office.
