I am in the best profession in the world, improving peoples oral health while helping to bring out their beauty. Being a dentist allows me to help boost my patients self-esteem by giving them a better smile and a better outlook on life. With a focus on prevention, my goal is to put each patient at ease and help them get the care they need in a comfortable, relaxed, and safe environment.
I attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for my Bachelor of Science in Biology. I continued on to Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry, where I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery and was a Health Policy Scholar.
In the time since my graduation, Ive continued my education to stay current on the newest and best in dental treatments and technology. Im passionate about continuingly expanding my knowledge and skills. Thats part of the responsibility of being a dentist, but its also personal to me. I love to learn!
I was born in Yemen and immigrated to Detroit, Michigan when I was an infant. I currently live in Laredo, Texas. When Im not at work, I enjoy spending time with my daughter and son. My hobbies include cooking and trying different cultural dishes, as well as outdoor activities such as hiking, tennis, basketball, and soccer.
I began my career as a dental assistant in pediatric dentistry, but it wasnt until one fateful day that I realized dental hygiene was my calling. A few years ago, I attended a local event in Austin, Texas, where dentists, hygienists, and assistants were needed to provide dental care for a majority of people without insurance or funds. Procedures like extractions, fillings, and root canals were needed for nearly every patient. More than 5,000 people were in attendance for this lengthy event, but out of all dentists and dental students present at the event, there were only TWO hygienists! After that day, I knew that I needed to help our local communities to prevent any diseases that could shorten our time making great memories with family and friends.
Whenever Im not at work, I try to travel as much as possible. This past summer was filled with new journeys and experiences all throughout Texas, from South Padre Island, all the way up to the panhandle! There is truly no other place like Texas! When Im at home, I love playing with my German shepherd/husky mix named Kodak!

It was the first time bringing my gson I get early 2 d appt. N everybody dat comes after gets 2 b called in b4 us than wats d point in giving appts. N then they tell u their follow ups it doesn't matter then y bother 2 give n appt all d girls show no courtesy only d lady w d glasses y so u hire people that r inconsiderate.

Highly recommend this dentist!! They have such friendly & helpful staff & are very welcoming! Hands down the best dentist office i've been to in Laredo! Can't forget the front desk (Juliet) who treated me very nicely as soon as I opened the doors! Thank you staff for a great experience!

How do I make a long story short? Let me attempt to, I'm from another city, 4 hours away, I was contacted to work out of Laredo, since last August 2021. It was to much to commute from Laredo to my hometown, so I asked my dentist from my HT. to refer me to an dental office in Laredo, and he said he worked for or interred for Menta Dentistry, Thank you Menta, for doing a stupendous job so far with my restoration of my smile. Keep up the great work!

Hands down best experience, the facility is very welcoming. Everyone has a smile on their face and they make you feel welcome from the tour around the building to the wait for the check-up. Everything and everyone is amazing great customer service highly recommend.

Had a wonderful visit at Menta Dentistry, Dr. Obaid is the best! Very young, quick, and knowledgeable. The staff is extremely welcoming and pleasant making for a good experience. I have had three visits within the last year, all of them with my teeth looking better each time. They definitely go above and beyond!

I have always loved going to this dental office, but yesterday was a very different heart breaking experience. The front desk I have no complaints, much less the dentist, but your new staff needs to learn to be a bit more courteous and compassionate with your patients. Yesterday I called Mario multiple times and always being told the same thing I had someone else call shortly after I had hung up and sure enough he answered. And to my surprise they had just spoken with whom they had to speak...... you all need Samantha back in that office. You all also need to implement some payment system that is helpful, not all patients have the money you all request much less credit to be taking out loans.

Can't find enough nice things to say about the Menta staff! Everyone is very courteous, and polite! Very professional and attentive! Went in for a cleaning, and as usual, my experience was very delightful. Hands down the best dentistry in Laredo! Highly recommended!

0 recommendations. What should be a simple orthodontic procedure has become just a costly waste of time. If I could get out of my contract I would. The doctor is demeaning and I can't wrap my head around how so many workers in my town just take no pride in their work or, especially in the health care profession , just don't care about their patients. I am so disappointed. I wish our town took more effort into providing quality work and care.

I have been going to Menta for the past 3 years. Before that, I would never go because I was so afraid. After my experience with all the staff that fear went away. I love the care for their patients.
