Dr. Kwan H. Um has been a Houston-area dentist for more than 15 years. Having graduated from the University of Texas in Austin, he enlisted into the United States Navy and enrolled in their medical program. After receiving his degree and completing his tour of duty, Dr. Um settled in Houston, TX to begin his private medical practice.

I recommend this dentist to all my family , the check in time is 10/10 the most you'll spend in the waiting area is 3/4 minutes and everyone in the office is so nice the dentist assistant are always friendly and helpful and always quick and careful I love this dentist.

Dr. Um is fantastic. He is knowledgeable and takes good care of me and my teeth. The whole office makes the experience wonderful from checking in, to the hygienists, to understanding the work needing to be done and the associated costs. Easy to work with and would highly recommend.

I recently switched to Memorial Southwest Family Dentistry. Dr. Um replaced an old crown for me and it was the best dental experience I have ever had. I usually get anxious about the numbing process but his method was quick and virtually pain-free. The staff are friendly and professional. So glad I've found our new dentist!

Fabulous dentist! Dr. Um has an in-house mill to make crowns in his office, in about 45 minutes. It makes a perfectly fitting crown every time. He has made numerous crowns for me over the years, and I highly recommend him.

I really appreciate the warm welcome I receive when I come in for my dental needs! The staff is awesome and makes you feel like you're family. I never have issues with my cleanings and check up. Dr. Um is super professional and he takes the time to address your concerns in a very understanding way! I have been coming here for several years, come to think of it, over a decade and I don't have to worry about going anywhere else for my oral health. You will not be disappointed at the quality work and care you receive from Dr. Um and his staff!

Dr. Um and his coworkers are truly wonderful. Going to the dentist can be stressful, however they all take the stress out of every dental appointment. Always an easy check-in process, hygienist never is running behind, Dr. Um is great and the checkout process is awesome too.

I can not say enough good things about this office. Every one of their staff are exceptionally kind, knowledgeable and accommodating. The office is clean and inviting and they are following procedures to make everyone feel safe during this pandemic time frame. Dr. Kwan Um himself is very meticulous in making sure every detail of your oral health is taken care of. I went to Dr. Um for both general and cosmetic dentistry. He found issues that other dentists had overlooked as well as gave me options to issues other Dr.'s had recommended that would be more ideal for the overall look and situation that I was trying to achieve. I will say I was super impressed at his attention to detail especially when it came to producing my Veneers. He made sure every little thing was PERFECT! There were times I thought something looked fine, and yet he would say nope this could be improved and take his time to do so whether it was in office or after hours on his own time. I was blown away by the whole veneer experience as a whole and how he did it all... the high-tech devices he uses and the knowledge he has is amazing. He is not just a dentist, but an engineer and artist! If anyone needs dental work done this is the place to go!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my SMILE again!!

I've been going to Dr. Um for many years now. He is always the same: professional, thorough and good at explaining. He has a very clean office and high tech equipment. The best machine makes your crown after taking pics it fits perfectly and leaves your tooth stronger than before. You go home with it in place after about an hour depending on the size. All of his staff provide outstanding service and are friendly and kind as well. Kim is a gentle and careful hygienist and I'm very comfortable with her cleaning my teeth. Thankyou all!

My hidden gem, Don't you all rush here ;) I started going here a few years ago when I moved back to Houston, approximately 2017/18. I was working nearby then. They are friendly, and I was able to easily get an appointment. After relocating to downtown I still drive all the way out there. I just doubt I'll get their friendly faces, trusted care from Dr. Um and staff, and good scheduling anywhere else. I highly recommend them.
