Dr. Abdou, a native Houstonian, has spent her whole life surrounded by the practice of dentistry. Her love for dentistry began at a very young age and was heavily influenced by her mother, who is also a practicing dentist and educator. Her passion continued to evolve as she grew up in & around her mothers practice.
When choosing dentistry as her own career, Dr. Abdou knew from the beginning that it was the path that she would pursue. She graduated with her Bachelors of Science degree from The University of Texas at Austin and subsequently received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Texas School of Dentistry in the Houston Medical Center.
Dr. Abdou has been practicing in Houston since her graduation and prides herself on providing high quality dentistry in a comfortable and spa-like environment. Dr. Abdou spends time getting to learn each of her patients desires, needs, and concerns. She sits with each patient to customize a treatment plan for them and explain how she can improve their oral health. Educating her patients and allowing them to make their own informed decision creates a great mutual relationship between her and her patients.
Dr. Chaluparambil, who also goes by Dr. C, was born and raised in Texas City, TX. Dr. C proudly attended Texas A&M University and graduated with the class of 2007. He graduated with a degree in Bio-Medical Sciences with a minor in business. After his time at Texas A&M, he attended the University of North Texas Health Science Center for his masters in Medical Sciences. His passion for the community took him to the University of Texas Health Science Center for a Masters in Public Health. During that time he completed a practicum working on curriculum and process improvements in the bioinformatics department of the UT dental school. He then joined the VA as the virtual tumor board coordinator helping with the coordination of care for our nations veterans. Dr. C married childhood sweetheart Ansela and moved to Utah where Dr. C then pursued his passion by attending Roseman University College of Dentistry.
Dr. Cs enthusiasm and passion for dentistry started after his time at Texas A&M where he could periodically work with and shadow Dr. Thomas in her office. From his interactions with patients and staff, Dr. C instantly fell in love with dentistry due to its dynamic nature. Dr. C has always had a thirst to learn, and with science and technology constantly evolving around healthcare and dentistry, it was a seemingly perfect fit. From there, Dr. C packed up and moved to Utah to attend Roseman University. This is where Dr. C was able to gain significant amounts of knowledge in endodontics, oral surgery, and implant placements. In an effort to broaden his scope and gain valuable experience, he took advantage of opportunities ranging from local community health clinics to Indian Health Service clinics in Wewoka, Oklahoma. All of these experiences helped give Dr. C valuable exposure to perform complex procedures and help give treatment to patients in need. This provided the foundation to shape Dr. C into the amazing dentist he is today at Memorial Park Dental Spa.
Dr. C makes sure that he is always on the cutting edge of dental technologies and procedures to make sure his patients get the absolute best care. He focuses his continuing education on implant placement, cosmetic dentistry, occlusion and facial pain. There is nothing more satisfying than making sure the hours of dedication and hard work can truly make a difference in peoples oral health and personal lives.
Dr. Hoopingarner has shared his experiences at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, and continues to encourage students at the University of Texas School of Dentistry to embrace advancements in dentistry.

Had another great visit today. I always specifically request Hong for my cleanings. She has great steady hands, is super thorough, not to mention extremely friendly. Dr. Abdou is remarkably detailed oriented and so amazing how much she remembers from your chart without even needing to look up your file! I always mention the practice whenever someone is looking for a new dentist. Long time client and so grateful for the wonderful work these professionals do! Hard to be believe but these ladies make going to the dentist regularly such a breeze!

Mya at the front desk is phenomenal!!!! She got my appointment set up on time with no issues when the online scheduler didn't put my appointment on their board! Also, got the right side of my mouth deep cleaned by Crystal, no pain! She explained everything to me and made sure I was completely comfortable for the entire two hour procedure. I will not go to another dentist. This was my first time to a dentist in almost 8 years because I have had so many painful experiences in the past with other dental offices. This office is amazing and everyone is so kind and welcoming. Love love love Mya and Crystal!!!

Just verify that they're in your network if you are using insurance. The receptionist said "we accept" my insurance but did not specify that they were in-network, when I specifically asked. I don't know if it's deliberate deception to get you in before springing it on you, or whether she was new and didn't know the difference. And if its the latter, she should be better trained.

I have had pretty bad dental anxiety most of my life, and was very nervous before my first appointment here. The entire team including the front desk, dental assistants, dental hygienists, and both Dr. Abdou and Dr. C were warm and welcoming. I have never experienced and dentist office like this one before. When it came to filo a cavity, I didn't even feel the needle when they numbed me. They don't beat around the bush with what you need, but still are gentle when explaining to you what you need done. I am moving four hours away, but will continue to make the long drive to see them. I do not think I will ever see another dentist. If you have any kind of worries about seeing a dentist, you can put them to rest if you visit Memorial Park Dental Spa.

I hate going to the dentist because I am such a chicken. Dr. C and his staff are wonderful and I highly recommend them. If you have sensitive teeth and hate pain, they will take care of you. Dennis is a treat--his upbeat personality will put you at ease. I very much appreciate their professionalism and friendly demeanor.

Karlie is my favorite! I see her almost every time I come in for a cleaning and she is always so sweet. I personally am usually not a fan of getting my teeth cleaned but she's gentle and quick but thorough. My favorite dentist office I've ever been to!

Completed 6 months of Invisalign! I LOOOOVE the results! Better than expected! The staff is amazing and was super attentive during each check-in visit. I was always treated warmly and all of my questions were answered. Highly recommend!

I always love my experience at MPD. The office is beautiful and my hygienist Karlie, is amazing. She is so gentle and friendly. She really makes the appointments feel personal and simple. Both Dr. C and Dr. Abdou have done my exams and I feel comfortable with them both!

I went in for my first cleaning with them and immediately felt like they took the time to know the reason why I choose them. Was it a move? Was it my past experience at another place? Why did you leave them? What did you like about them? What didn't you? Not in an immediate way either, they cared. Not only at the receptionist desk but Kayla specifically took the time to get to know me. I told her next time I want her to assist me again. She paid attention to the detail and I liked that! Dr. Abdoo came in and confidently looked at what I commented about and also gave me her opinion on what I needed and overal my teeth and gum health! I'll definitely will be back and would reccomend them to anyone!

Medical exam charges $160+ = one tooth x-rayed and the dentist walking in to tell me to go to another dentist to get a root canal. Fastforward, today I went to a wonderful office and was charged the same for dental cleaning and a filling... no root canal required. I don't know what they do here, but I will never find out lol...sometimes you gotta laugh after getting charged for absolutely NOTHING.

A dental spa that makes dental visit very pleasant! Professional practice and a very clean and comfortable place that offers me confidence. The dental office also closes late on Monday and Tuesday. That gives the opportunities of late appointments which I find particularly helpful and friendly. Dental hygienist Hong is the best too! Super thorough and friendly!!!

Amazing experience at Memorial Dental Spa each time my fiance and I visit. Dr. C always takes his time to make you feel comfortable and welcomed. I just had a cleaning done and a tooth extraction, and it was pain free and an extremely smooth recovery. Dennis, Dr. C's assistant was also just so kind and calming from the start, answering every question and doubt I may have had, and in such a great mood, which really makes a difference in a situation like that. Karlie, our dental hygienist, is also amazing. Very meticulous and careful and gentle, and she's great at making a fairly uncomfortable experience a really comfortable one. MPDS is extremely punctual and cleanly, and the staff and doctors are extremely friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend!

BEST dental experience ever! The front desk are very pleasant and welcoming upon arrival. My dental hygienist, Hong, was amazing. She listened to my concerns, answered my questions and had great chair side presence. Her techniques were great too, absolutely ZERO pain throughout my cleaning! Dr. Chaluparambil was amazing too! I never felt rushed, he answered all my questions and was very accommodating to my needs for this visit. I highly recommend this practice to everyone in the area! Thank you everyone at Memorial Park Dental Spa, I look forward to see y'all in 6 months for my next visit!

Really enjoy Dr. Abdou and her care towards her patients however front desk staff is impolite, difficult to work with, inconsiderate of other peoples time and not resourceful. Makes the experience challenging as they serve as gate keepers. Will likely avoid this practice due to discourteous front desk staff.
