For over 30 years, Dr. Melvin H. Pearson has been treating patients in the field of orthodontic dentistry and has continued to educate himself through extensive training programs. He then expanded into sleep dentistry.
With his professional knowledge and experience in orthodontics, Dr. Pearson has had a unique insight into the way bite alignment and jawbone development affect sleep. Utilizing state-of-the-art technology and modern techniques in the evolving field of orthopedics and dental treatments for sleep apnea, Dr. Pearson will ensure his patients receive personalized care and precise results.
Dr. Melvin H. Pearson graduated from Brooklyn College in 1963, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He furthered his education by enrolling and graduating from New York University College of Dentistry with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Subsequently, he obtained his certificate of training in orthodontics from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. Pearson has committed to provide high-quality dental care through his career for all his valued patients. He makes it a priority to attend seminars and lectures throughout the year with the goal of expanding his knowledge. Additionally, our Staten Island dentist founded the Richmond County Dental Hygiene Study Group and is the editor of Orthodontic Cyber Journal.
Dr. Melvin Mel H. Pearson believes patients deserve the best that orthodontic technology has to offer. In order to stay on the cutting edge of emerging trends, he attends seminars and lectures throughout the year.

I could not be happier that I chose Dr. Pearson. My daughter needed Invisalign and the process from day one has been exceptional. I am now 10 months into the process and have not been disappointed yet. Helen the office manager is excellent. Dr. Pearson explains the entire process beforehand and you can see the progress as you move along. Look no further

Between covid, an accident resulting in a hospital visit, and me moving across the country unexpectedly...there was more than enough room for errors to be made. That being said..there weren't any. I wound up finishing my treatment a lot later than I expected when I walked into the office in January but I think covid is something most people should understand will be a large wrench thrown into your plans. Having just finished treatment, I can say with confidence I'm very happy with the results. Throughout the treatment, both Dr. Pearson and his assistant Helen were both extremely open, friendly, pleasant and professional. Again, the fact they were able to work through the treatment with me moving across the country shows a commitment to results. Definitely recommend. Awesome music playing in the office as well.

I had other consults with orthodontists before choosing Melvin Pearson DDS . They are by far the most professional, knowledgeable and patient friendly of the offices that I visited. I truly appreciate the time taken to explain everything from the consult to the present . I now have my retainers after having Invisalign done and it helped fix my mouth where I'm able to smile again . PS : Helen one of the staff members is great as well . Always friendly and trying to help . I highly recommend this office !

Dr. Pearson, not very friendly/welcoming individual. Rough, brash. and seem quite short tempted unfortunately, especially over the phone. Not a great experience overall.

I cannot recommend Dr Pearson. My children were in braces for 5 years strarting in elementary school with his suggestion. I paid 11k for them combined. In June their retainers both cracked a week apart. I contacted Dr Pearson and he was not interested in helping me obtain new retainers. Stated his office will be closed until mid July. I contacted again in July and Dr Pearson answered and asked that I call another time.. Huh. Now their teeth have shifted all of my money was wasted. He doesn't care since he's been paid in full. I went to my dentist for my invisilgn and upon completion I was give 4 sets of retainers. My dentist told me each set will last 2 years. Dr Pearson gave us 1 set Edit due to response from Dr. Pearson. Is your ankle still broken? How come you didn't provide us with more then 1 set? Still haven't heard back from you about replacement which is now pointless since so much time has passed.

Hey has changed my daughter teeth from being messed up on top of each other , and on a angle to be straight and even . . I will add a picture later when she get them off . from first time I went to the day she gets them off
