In 2015, Dr. Theresa Mellion-Minter, daughter of Dr. Nick, joined Mellion Orthodontics. Dr. Theresa provides orthodontic treatment for both children and adults, including individuals that require special needs, cleft palate treatment, TMJ therapy, Invisalign treatment, and multidisciplinary care. She is committed to community involvement and enjoys participating in many professional organizations as well as serving on the craniofacialteam at Akron Childrens Hospital.
Dr. Theresa earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicineat Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine in 2013 after receiving her bachelors in economics from Denison University in 2009.In 2015, she earned her Master of Science in orthodontics from Saint Louis University. She is a member of the Stark County Dental Society and an associate member of the Akron Dental Society.
The family practice of Mellion Orthodontics has been providing care to this community for more than three decades. A native of Akron, Dr. Nicholas Mellionopened his orthodontic practice in 1980, and was joined in 2010 by his son, Dr. Nathan, and in 2015 by his daughter, Dr. Theresa.
Drs. Nick, Nate, and Theresa provide orthodontic treatment for both children and adults, including individuals who require special needs, cleft palate treatment, TMJ therapy, and multidisciplinary care. The doctors are committed to supporting the communities, and also participate in many professional organizations as well as serveon the craniofacial team at Akron Childrens Hospital.
Dr. Nick received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at The Ohio State University in 1978. He earned his masters in orthodontics fromSaint Louis University in 1980.Dr. Nick is a past president of the Saint Louis University Orthodontic Education and Research Foundation and, along with Dr. Nate and Dr. Theresa, belongs to the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Cleveland Society of Orthodontists, and the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics.

My entire family loves this practice. We currently have 3 boys in active treatment with the Mellion's. They have a fantastic team. They are so kind and make the entire experience wonderful. I would recommend this practice for anyone seeking orthodontic treatment - child or adult.

Absolutely love the Mellion clinic. As an adult patient I was very nervous to get braces and go through the process of fixing my teeth but now that it's all over I'm so glad I did and so grateful for all the staff at Mellion Orthodontics.

This place is top notch! From the moment you walk in the door you feel at ease and like family. The office is so clean and up to date, they even have a coffee bar with tea, hot chocolate & bottled water. It seems like everyone you come in contact with is more friendly than the one before. Dr. Nick, Dr. Nate and Dr. Theresa Mellion are superior at what they do and go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. (They even call you at home the night you get your braces on to make sure you are ok and don't have any questions). I would recommend this practice to anyone in need of an Orthodontist. You won't be disappointed!!

Mellion Orthodontics and staff have been amazing to work with. They are so professional and pleasant to work with. They are on time and most appointments are quick. I don't think we have ever had to wait more than 5 minutes. Dr. Nick and Dr. Nate are great at explaining the why and how of the treatment plan which I really appreciate. I have 3 kids with different needs and each plan is tailored to their needs. I highly recommend them. My oldest daughter has a beautiful smile now! My other two are on their way. My youngest got her braces on yesterday. Needless to say - we have had many visits to Mellion and all have been pleasant.
