Hello, my name is Matthew Melancon, and I am a General Dentist in Broussard, Louisiana. I was born and raised in Lafayette and graduated from LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans in 2009. I completed a general practice residency in New Orleans from 2009-to 2010. I was privileged to take over Dr. McKays practice in 2013. My wife Sarah and I continue to live in Lafayette with our two daughters, Annie and Norah Kate.
Dr. Melancon and his staff would like to welcome you to our family dental clinic, conveniently located in downtown Broussard, LA. We pride ourselves in being a personal neighborhood dental office that is constantly striving to provide the best dental care possible.

Lindsay is our part time registered dental hygienist. Lindsay graduated dental hygiene school in 2008 at University of Louisiana in Monroe, Louisiana. Lindsay loves educating our patients about proper oral health. She also enjoys community outreach through the oral health program we offer to schools in the surrounding areas. Lindsay enjoys outdoor activities with her two boys and spending time with her family.
Louise is our dedicated dental assistant with over 25 years of experience. Louises bright smile welcomes and comforts our patients, providing a warm environment. Louise and her husband enjoy cooking and camping with friends and family.
Sarah is our full time registered dental hygienist. Sarah graduated dental hygiene school in 2012 from Lamar Institute of Technology in Beaumont, Texas. Sarah has been a part of our team since 2015. Sarah is very passionate about her job and makes patient comfort a top priority. In her spare time she enjoys live music with friends and traveling.
Victoria is our cross-trained front desk personnel and dental assistant who has been a part of our team since 2015. Victoria will make certain that you and your family are taken care of from the moment she answers your phone call until your treatment is completed. Our patients always appreciate her friendly personality. In her spare time Victoria and her husband love to travel and spend time with friends and family.
Does your smile embarrass you because of missing teeth, or do you have one or more that are missing? Today there is a better solution known as dental implants, instead of relying on dentures, as many have in the past.
A dental implant is just an artificial root, to put it in simple terms. It is set into your jaw bone and generally made of titanium. Then a porcelain crown is placed into the abutment screwed into the implant. Dental implants can give you a beautiful, natural smile, and they are solid.
Problems can be caused in your oral health, and bone loss is one of those problemsnot just their unsightliness. The bo e tends to deteriorate where a tooth once was when it is missing. The sh lifting and moving of teeth that cause bite problems can also result from missing teeth, which can cause jaw pain and unnecessary wear on the teeth.
You can look older than you are, the look on your face being altered because of missing teeth. Your f we can start shrinking and making it look like it is pinched together when a tooth is pulled or falls out! Saggi cheeks and wrinkles can develop over time.
An all-on-four is the second type of dental implant. Four I plants are placed in the upper and lower arch in this type of treatment. A set of hybrid dentures is molded to sit atop the implants once they are placed. A natural and very beautiful-looking smile and a much better result are what this type of treatment gives you.
The dental implant of the third type is very much like an all-on-four. In this instance, the hybrid denture is screwed into six implants that have been placed in the lower and upper arch in place of the four.
Dental implants could be a perfect solution for you if you wear dentures. Putting your teeth in a glass at night or messing with gooey creams will be past. One ag in enjoying your food and their varying tastes will be a joy!

My first visit was outstanding. Doc is full service and very knowledgeable !! I'm transferring my entire family to Melancon family Dentists.. The staff is awesome too.

Unfortunately they called us saying we could no longer go there bc all of a sudden they do not take our insurance anymore. We really liked them but now we have to go somewhere else.

I have not ever had a truly bad experience in this practice. That said, the dental cleaning appt. this time was one of the best. The hygienist was attentive, professional and preformed her duties without inflicting any significant discomfort to me during the course of the cleaning.

WOW!! My daughter and I had been dreading her upcoming appointment. Unfortunately she hadn't been to see a dentist for a while. Even though she had a bit of cleaning that needed to be done, she got through it very easily thanks to Dr. Melancon and his staff. They went above and beyond when it came to my daughter's anxiousness and in making sure she was comfortable. She's so excited about taking better care of her teeth now and I can't thank them enough! Their receptionist is so nice and very professional. We got an appointment immediately. I definately recommend them and we look forward to seeing them again.

Go to Dr. Melancon. He seems to be currently getting established here with now newer clients after taking over Dr. McKay's office, and he is fantastic. Our family use to see the previous dentist, and now we all see Dr. Melancon, and not only was it a smooth transition, it was efficient and effortless. He took the time to get to know us, and he is such a great dentist. He is diligent and kind. His staff is equally as wonderful, from the greeting smiles at the front desk to the hygienists that do a fantastic job. Even if you take great care of your teeth and/or do not feel the need to see a dentist, go to Dr. Melancon. Highly recommend.

Dr. Melancon and his entire staff are absolutely amazing, especially with children. They are not only professional, courteous, kind and knowledgeable. I have been a patient of Melancon Family Dentistry for over 35 years!!! I became as a patient when Dr. McKay began his new practice in a temporary mobile home located where the current facility is now. I was so relieved that I did not have to find another primary dentist once Dr. Melancon acquired the dental practice after Dr. McKay's retirement. His staff is amazing and I am so happy that Lindsay has returned in her role of dental hygienist. She is awesome! And, if ever I need a procedure done, I am always comforted to know that Louise will take excellent care of me! She has been a long-standing employee of over 20 years and is very compassionate, dedicated and loyal to this dental practice! I could choose another dentist closer to work or home in Lafayette, but the excellent care I receive at Melancon Family Dentistry is well worth the drive! I also greatly appreciate Dr. Melancon now has the latest technology, equipment and the office furnishings and upgrades are very impressive! In conclusion, this is a "first class" dental practice!
