Dr. Medley was born and raised in Excelsior Springs, where she met her husband, Matthew. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in 2008. She then practiced dentistry in Sedalia, Missouri, from 2008 to 2014, before she and her husband bought an existing dental practice from Dr. Edward Cable. Dr. Medley is a member of SPEAR continuing education and the American Dental Association. It is her goal as a dentist to serve her patients at the highest level possible.
Dr. Medley and her husband have three children, Will, Molly and Miles. Shes busy momming in her spare time, but she and her husband love baseball and traveling. Theyre also heavily involved in their community and the chamber. Her husband is also the owner of 3 Trails Brewing, which is a microbrewery on the Independence Square.
Courtney has been our treatment coordinator since March of 2018! She helps our patients achieve optimal oral health for life with multiple options to pay for their dental treatment. She also has a bachelors degree in social psychology from Park University and likes helping our practice grow, which allows us to serve more people. Courtney was born on Guam and shares her fur babies with her fiancee. She comes from a large, tight-knit family; shes the third of five children. In her free time, Courtney loves to read, dance, work out and make memories with her friends and family.
Mackenzie has been our dental assistant since May of 2020. She was born and raised in Independence and graduated from Fort Osage High School. She is the first of five kids and she loves being part of a large family. She also has a wonderful extended family she loves to spend time with. Disneyworld is her jam, and loves to travel on vacations and cruises, whenever possible. She and her fiance, Thomas, are planning on getting married in the Spring of 2021, and are looking forward to finding, and making a home together as newlyweds.
Mackenzie enjoys the teamwork work in the office, and appreciates how the team can have fun, while taking care of our patients. She is very supportive of her coworkers, and is willing to help in any way she can!
Haley has been with our office as a hygienist since January of 2020. She graduated from UMKC School of Dentistry in the hygiene program, and achieved the Sherry Burns Outstanding Clinician Award! She shares two cats with her fiance, Austin, and hopes to rescue a third very soon. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her niece and nephew, and is a movie addict.
She enjoys the open communication and teamwork with the practice and loves how everyone has fun inside and outside of the office. Haley is very teamwork oriented, and takes the health and care of her patients very seriously.
Shelby is the newest addition to the Medley Smiles Team, and started as a hygienist with us in November 2020. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene from UMKC in 2011. She grew up in Kansas City, and is close with her parents, three siblings, nephews and niece. She enjoys taking her dogs on long walks, spending time with her friends and family, trying new restaurants and coffee shops, and playing volleyball. Shelby loves getting to know our family of patients, and listening to Dr. Medley and Haley serenade each other.

I've been seeing Dr. Medley and the ladies here for over a year now having had a few cleanings and minor procedures done. I have NEVER walked away from the dentist feeling good and happy about my experience until I started going here. This place is clean, everyone is very kind and friendly. They have accommodated every wimpy request I've had with no shame thrown my way. My 6 year old loves it here too! I can't recommend this office enough!

I wouldn't recommend them now. When my husband first started going to them 3 or 4 years ago, they were great. He never had any issues with the dental work. I was impressed so I started going to them about a year or so ago. My first visit I sat in a chair for over an hour and all they did was do 15 minutes of x-rays. Not a problem just thought it was odd. Than their financial lady signed me up for care credit BEFORE EVEN ASKING IF I WANTED IT. Which is really weird considering I had dental insurance for both me and my husband which they had no problem charging our insurance until I started going and than all of a sudden they were all about charging the care credit card for the same dental work they were submitting to our insurance. When I started asking questions they got shady. I reported the fraud charges and all the dental work they did on both my husband and I we are now having to pay out of pocket for because Medley Smiles submitted"dental work" to our insurance, maxed out our insurance, and all of that "work" they said they did wasn't even done. Now both my husband and I have to pay for more work to be done on work Medley Smiles said they did. Here's the icing on the cake. Both my husband and I ended up with infected teeth AFTER we started getting work done by Medley Smiles. Isn't the point of going to a dentist is to PREVENT infection not GET an infection in your mouth? When I started asking questions about their billing instead of answering the questions they waited until my husband went in and told him that we aren't welcome there anymore. Are we not welcome because I asked questions about your billing or are we not welcome because you got caught doing fraudulent billing?

What an AWESOME experience! I have been terrified of the dentist until now. I have been going to Dr. Medley for a few months, and no dentist has cared more about my comfort and anxiety than Dr. Medley! Her staff is amazing, especially Kinsey! Dr. Medley has had nothing but compassion towards me. Not once have I felt uncomfortable or pain. Her "bedside manner" is incredible. I am going through few pretty major health issues, and she keeps up-to-date on my health. She even goes one step further and researches some aspects of my health to better educate me. Dr. Medley is not only my INCREDIBLE dentist, she us my friend with AMAZING skills!!

Not recommended. They put themselves first, not the patient. I prepaid for a huge amount of work just before covid only to have to wait until after they reopened. No complaint there but when I needed to reschedule later due to medical issue they cancelled my appointments and left me in lurch to find new doctor. Not cool.

I have had terrible experiences with other Dental offices. Medley Smiles has been the dream of all Dental places. I was utterly terrified of a small procedure being done. They were quick to calm my fears and reassure me that they were there to help. The procedure went smoothly. They have such amazing people skills and the kindest, sincere staff. My family will never go anywhere else.
