Dr. McShane has been practicing dentistry since graduating from Loyola Dental School in 1979. He is married with four children and enjoys cycling, cross-country skiing, woodworking and golf in his spare time.
Dr. Bryan Erce is a recent graduate of the Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, where he earned his Doctorate in Dental Medicine in 2014. Dr. Erce split his undergraduate education between Queens University of Charlotte and Case. He played four years of college basketball while earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology. As a native Chicagoan, he still enjoys basketball, as well as golf, racquetball, softball, biking, and skiing. He is a Chicago SuperFan and loves watching the Blackhawks, Bears, Bulls, and Cubs.
Dr. Colleen McShane graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in Minneapolis in 2015. She then completed a General Practice Residency program through the University of Chicago at Evanston Hospital. She is excited to be part of the MCDA team and enjoys traveling, swimming, biking, reading, and volunteering in her spare time.
Dr. Matthew McShane, the newest member of our dental team, is a graduate of Harvard School of Dental Medicine. While at HSDM, Dr. Matt completed courses at both Harvard Dental and Harvard Medical School. Following dental school, he completed additional training through the General Practice Residency at Loyola University Medical Center. At Loyola, Dr. Matt gained experience in advanced dental procedures, treatment of dental emergencies, implant placement and restoration, operating room dentistry, and dental treatment of medically complex patients.
Originally from the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Matt is a graduate of St. Francis High School (Wheaton, IL) and Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL). He was a three sport varsity athlete in high school, and a member of the Mens Varsity Tennis Team in college. Currently, he enjoys staying active through running, biking and swimming, as well traveling and exploring Chicago.
Dr. Matt is a member of the American, Illinois State, and Chicago Dental Societies, as well as the Academy of General Dentistry. To stay current in the ever-changing field of dentistry, he is active in continuing education and organized dentistry.
Dr. Gruendeman graduated from Loyola Dental School in 1982 and the Orthodontics program in 1989. He was an Assistant Professor of Orthodontics at Loyola from 1989-1994. Dr. Gruendeman has published articles on orthodontics and loves to golf in his spare time.

I just had my by annual cleaning with Heather, dental hygienist, who once again did a magnificent job. I have been to many dental hygienists in my lifetime and Heather is by far the most gentle and technically proficient dental hygienist I've ever come across. She is the only reason I am compliant with my dental care.

This place made me want to scream. First off the dentist I had was rude and had terrible bedside manner. Then I was billed many times like usual but the kicker is that they never broke down what I am paying for. Never go here find someone better!

My family, and some extended family, and I have been going to see Dr. McShane since I was able to get my teeth checked. This practice is amazing and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Since some of my family members have moved out of state, they will actually fly back in and make sure to schedule their cleaning or procedures while they are in town - because that is how much we trust this place! The hygienist are friendly and gentle as well. All around great place to take care of your teeth! They are family to us!

I've been going to this practice since I was a small child. After moving to Indiana, I tried another dentist. The new place lacked the family environment and expertise that you find with all the staff at Medical Dental Associates. I'll drive the several hours to get quality work!
