While attending the University of Maryland, Dr. Gorin developed the mathematical model and wrote the computer code that orthodontists now use to analyze x-rays instantly a process that used to take hours of painstaking labor. The recognition of Dr. Gorin's software as a research tool and clinical aid was instrumental in the computerization of the orthodontic postgraduate department at the University of Maryland.

Dr. Gorin is the developer of RUBYNOTES, a secure computerized patient charting system with special security enhancements that go well beyond government standards. The software enables doctors to protect particular aspects of a patients chart, and a paragraph, a sentence, a word, or even an image, can only be viewed by those with the proper security clearance.
