Dr. Jina grew up in South Carolina and attended college at Furman University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in East Asian studies. After college, she spent one year teaching English in China and has over a decade of experience traveling to Asia, Latin America, and Africa, providing free dental care to underserved communities.
In 2004, she began her dental career and started dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Dr. Jina graduated among the top of her class and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honors Society. Upon graduating from MUSC, Dr. Jina moved to North Carolina to begin her pediatric dental residency training at the UNC School of Dentistry Department of Pediatric Dentistry. During her residency, Dr. Jina received her Masters Degree, Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry, and Certificate of Global Public Health.
Dr. Brisbin is a native of Salisbury, NC and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she received her Bachelor of Science with Highest Distinction in Biology in 2012. She continued her training at UNC, where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2016.
During her time in dental school, she volunteered at NC Missions of Mercy dental clinics, went on an international dental trip to Malawi, Africa, and realized her interest in treating children while on rotation at the Stanly County health department.
A loyal Tar Heel, she stayed at UNC Chapel Hill for her residency in pediatric dentistry, where she received her Master of Science in Dentistry and Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the UNC School of Dentistry. She is now a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist and serves as an adjunct faculty at the UNC School of Dentistry.
Dr. Brisbin is passionate about serving the pediatric population in her community. In her spare time, she helps lead the preschool ministry at Summit Church in Chapel Hill and volunteers at the Samaritan Health Center dental clinic in Durham.
