Born and raised in Southeast Idaho, Dr. Kevin McMinn is excited to bring his orthodontic expertise to the Wood River Valley. Dr. Kevin began his education at Idaho State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Zoology degree. He went to dental school at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and was inducted into the dental honors society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Dr. Kevin completed orthodontic residency at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine Department of Orthodontics, earning a certificate as a specialist in orthodontics and a Master of Science in Dentistry.
Dr. Kevin McMinn is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Idaho State Dental Association and the South-Central Idaho Dental Society. Dr. Kevin McMinn remains current with the latest advancements in orthodontics by regularly attending continuing education courses. Dr. McMinn feels it is important to stay on the cutting-edge of orthodontics. Thus, he maintains memberships in many prestigious professional organizations to keep McMinn Orthodontics an exceptional orthodontic institution.
Dr. McMinn was introduced to the field of orthodontics by his father who us a retired orthodontist. Throughout high school and college, Dr. McMinn was frequently seen as an extra set of hands in his fathers office. He was drawn to the field because of the happiness that the transformative process of creating healthy, beautiful smiles brings. Every person, and their teeth, are different. Much like putting together a puzzle, Dr. McMinn enjoys the process of determining how to create the healthiest bite and smile for each patient.
In his spare time, Dr. McMinn enjoys volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America and spending time with his wife of 14 years, Stefanie, and their four children. They enjoy skiing, hiking, camping and spending time together at the lake. Dr. McMinn also enjoys playing basketball, mountain biking and road biking.
