Dr. McMillen received his dental degree from Georgetown University. Graduating in the top of his class, he also received the McCole Award for Excellence in Childrens Dentistry. After graduation, he completed a years internship program in Pedodontics at Childrens Hospital, Washington DC.
He received his orthodontic degree from Columbia University which is considered to be one of the finest orthodontic programs in the country. In addition, Dr. McMillen successfully completed a year of advanced TMJ study at Tufts Dental School, Boston, Massachusetts. He also served as an Assistant Clinical Instructor at Tufts Dental School. Dr. McMillen served as Chairman of the Insurance Council of Rhode Island Dental Society and is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists. He was also the President of Rhode Island Association of Orthodontics, an honor of recognition from his colleagues and a testament to the quality of his practice.
In recognition of his outstanding and meritorious contributions to the art and science of Dentistry, Dr. McMillen was made a Fellow of the International College of Dentists. The Convocation and Induction Ceremony was held on September 28, 2007.
The International College of Dentists is a not-for profit organization, which awards fellowships to dental professionals for conspicuous and meritorious service to the profession of dentistry. Fellows in the college continually strive to maintain and elevate the dignity of the profession through the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct and are enjoined to recognize their responsibility to participate in the affairs of society as citizens in their community and throughout the world.

I went here with my son and because of the experience my son no longer wants to visit dentists. It was terrible we had to keep going back because for the life of them they couldn't put in the device for my son to stop sucking his thumb. They didn't make the mold right and when they put it on they refused to figure out the problem. The device was made incorrectly and also placed wrong. I let them know and they said it was fine. They blamed my son being uncooperative and couldn't do nothing for him. They don't do a good job at all not problem solving skills and always want the easy way out. They simple had no compassion and patience for my son. Don't ever go there it was the worst service ever.

Really disappointed with the job done on my teeth years later. I had my premolar teeth removed and it's wrecked havoc on my bite since I had my braces removed. Please consult another Ortho if you are told that teeth need to be pulled out. A bottom tooth of mine was accidentally filed so that it has a permanent bump on the side too.

The personal up really really efficient but the personal in the back aren't as I expected, I was left waiting for my daughter to get call in for almost 2 hours because they had forgotten that we were there waiting, if it wasn't for a women that works there and saw me arrive I would of been there for longer, then after another nurse came to finally take my daughter in she didn't even do the job correctly, it takes around 30 mi. To do the check up and the exchange and this nurse took 2 minutes. Not happy with this visit at all

The personal up really really efficient but the personal in the back aren't as I expected, I was left waiting for my daughter to get call in for almost 2 hours because they had forgotten that we were there waiting, if it wasn't for a women that works there and saw me arrive I would of been there for longer, then after another nurse came to finally take my daughter in she didn't even do the job correctly, it takes around 30 mi. i recently went to this place to get my braces!! They are so kind and the Dr. is so kind and can make me laugh too! I love this orthodontist and the people in the front are so kind!! You SHOULD come to this amazing orthodontist!! :D

Some appointments were overbooked, almost waited an hour one time. But overall the staff is really nice and helpful.

I am a patient here and if you are considering for this office to be your orthodontist i suggest looking elsewhere. Every single appointment i've had with them I end up waiting AT LEAST an hour i've waited up to 3 hours before just for them to check if my teeth are straightening out which only takes 15-20 min. They need to stop overbooking because I know everyone that goes there agrees , all of us continuously asking the receptionist when they will call us up, and when we finally do get seen the assistants are usually very polite and explain you through everything but, the doctor always acts like your a waist of time, doesn't even greet you or anything. I would suggest taking your money elsewhere. Hope to have helped.

Very unprofessional, they always over book patients, and the Dr. is always canceling on his patients. Do not come here I'm just waiting for my sons top braces to be off so I can go elsewhere for the bottom ones.

Is there zero start rating? This office has messed up my daughter's appointment twice in the last 2 weeks!!! I have taken time off from work to drive 45 minutes to only be told that we were given the wrong appointment times or to tell me they had to reschedule my appointment last minute. A few other parents had the same issues while I was in the office. Their service is awful, they don't try to help us out due to the inconvenience, but they are sure to bill patients $65 if they are late or miss an appointment which I've never done. They can play with people's time but we have to adjust and follow to them and their mistakes..? Not fair!!!!

Nothing like making an Appointment for your daughter over a month in advance, taking the day off work, and your child out of school just to arrive and have the staff claim that they called a to cancel because the Doctor wont be in... I never receive any voicemail or follow up to reschedule. No respect for people or their time. Completely unprofessional in my opinion. I work too hard to give my business to such a disrespectful organization.

Every time we have an appointment here, we wait over an hour. They are dismissive of you right from the minute you walk in. I called today to check in from the car to try to avoid the lengthy wait in the waiting area -- they claimed to have called us in within 10 minutes! -- then told us we would have to wait an hour to be seen or reschedule. This is nothing new! We have had to wait OVER AN HOUR every other time we were here. If I would've known, I would've picked a different orthodontist altogether.

Very disappointed in the result of my teeth. I went through 2 years of braces to not have my teeth straight or an over bite fixed. The customer service was very bad and rude. Wish I deserved better care and wasted tons of money. I barely see a result in my teeth and don't recommend at all
