A native of Great Falls, Dr. Uppasna Chand attended Langley High School in McLean, Virginia. Her undergraduate education was earned atVirginia Tech, from which she graduated in 2002. Dr. Chand then continued on toVirginia Commonwealth Universityfor dental school, graduating in 2009 with her Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
Continuing her education both in-person and online, Dr. Chand has attended courses on occlusion and Invisalign, in addition to all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry. She is committed to staying up-to-date on the newest trends in dental technology.
Currently residing in Vienna, Virginia with her husband, Samir, Dr. Chand loves spending time with her family. Her other interests include reading a good book, being outdoors, bike riding, watching movies, and trying new restaurants in the area.
I joined this practice because I love the philosophy and the people I work with. I am proud to work for a practice which provides high-quality, patient-centered care using the latest advancements in technology. I have been practicing dentistry for over 10 years and am committed to providing excellent care and a comfortable experience. Entering a dental office can be an intimidating thing, but we are committed to creating a positive experience from the moment a patient walks through the door to the completion of their treatment. We understand the importance of educating patients on preventive and comprehensive oral health care. Our goal is to alleviate your fears and involve you in all phases of the treatment process.
Dr. Shawdi Assar attended the University of Maryland, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Physiology & Neurobiology in 2002. She then graduated from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where she received a Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 2006. She scored in the top percentile on her Board Examinations. During her more than 10 years of practice, Dr. Assar has worked in Maryland, North Carolina, and Virginia. She is a General Dentist with a strong interest and experience in Cosmetic dentistry and Invisalign. Dr. Assar is very involved in the dental community and remains up-to-date on the latest dental trends and technologies through her participation in various national conferences and professional organizations. Through her understanding of biomaterials and artistic nature, Dr. Assar provides top quality aesthetic results to her patients.

During her free time, Dr. Assar enjoys painting, drawing, and poetry. She lives nearby in the lovely Vienna community with her husband and two children where you can regularly find her cheering them at their sporting events.

Dr. Arbabi completed her undergraduate studies at Marymount university. She then attended the University of Maryland, School of Dentistry where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2011. To further expand her skills, she completed a one-year residency in advanced education in general dentistry at University of Maryland, School of dentistry where she received training in cosmetic dentistry, Implant dentistry (both surgical and restorative) and endodontics. She is a life-long learner who attends continuing education courses in all facets of general dentistry including Invisalign, rotary endodontics, and dental sleep medicine.
Dr. Arbabi lives in the beautiful Mclean community with her husband and daughter. In her free time, she enjoys Pilates and entertaining friends and family while trying new recipes. She loves traveling, learning new cultures and enjoying new cuisines.

Fantastic service and care. I have never been to a dentist who took the time to explain and discuss issues and plans to resolve those issues. The support staff were patient and professional. I would highly recommend their dentistry services to family and friends.

Very willing to work with me over the phone and even squeezed me in early! Going to the dentist is one of my least favorite things to do, however they did everything to make me more comfortable. Worked with me to set up a treatment plan and I'm excited to get my smile back!

Best dentist experience I've had in a very long time!! Which it had been... a very long time since I'd been to a dentist and naturally I was worried i'd get a little judgment, but Dr. Uppasna Chan was nothing short of amazing as well as the staff/hygienist! You could tell they all appreciated eachother and for that, things ran smoothly and efficiently. Very thorough care and very attentive, from the time I walked into the door to stepping out... so considerate and you could tell everyone loved what they were doing! Amazing practice and very comfortable! Thank you guys for such an amazing experience and making dental work, more than bearable!

I had a great visit, both of the doctors who helped fill the two cavities I had could not have been more helpful and patient. Overall It was a smooth easy trip to the dentist.

MFD had to reschedule my 7am cleaning appointment due to illness. They texted at 6am to give me plenty of warning. Not only was the team able to accommodate me and reschedule for another appointment within 24 hours, but their level of care and professionalism was outstanding. Highly recommend!

I'm a new patient at this practice. Was blown away by Dr. Naimee and the quality of the hygienists' work (I can't remember her name but she loves to travel!). Dr. Naimee helped me a lot and I won't be going to anyone else for my dental care.

Very bad experience with this practice. Went for a teeth cleaning and was informed I had 8 cavities and needed two fillings replaced. Seemed odd as the dentist did not show me my x rays and I take good care of my teeth. I requested my x-rays and went to another dentist for a second opinion - second dr. said I had zero cavities and my existing fillings would last another 10 years. This second dentist was shocked that I had been recommended so many fillings. Additionally, dental hygienist was extremely rough and the entire cleaning was very uncomfortable. Check out the other one-star review - another patient had the same experience. Dentist didn't show me the x-rays and seemed intent on getting as much money out of me as possible. Definitely DO NOT recommend. Stay away from this place. The sheer amount of 5-star reviews for a practice this shady suggests the reviews here might be fake.

Truly an excellent treatment by Joy, my dental hygienist. She is thorough, explains what she is doing step by step. Last but not least she very pleasant. The final step is for the dentist to review the visit. This is an excellent dental practice. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a new dentist.

They are not upfront about their procedures. I booked a regular cleaning but when I got there, the dentist conveniently decided to do a debridement. I purchased their treatment plan of two cleanings for $299 thinking the debridement would be included but was told at check out that it was an extra expense. I let it go thinking I'll just come back in 4 weeks and I booked another appointment for a cleaning. Later on I had to reschedule my 4 week appointment and that's when they told me the appointment was actually just an evaluation to determine whether I needed a regular or deep cleaning. And of course conveniently the deep cleaning wasn't covered by the treatment plan either. I am an out of pocket patient and I would have appreciated for them to be upfront about all their procedures they intended to do on me instead of just adding on more extra expenses while I am sitting at the dentist chair. I changed to a new practice then where the dentist explicitly told me I didn't need a debridement and two regular cleanings would have been just fine for me. Edit: None of the costs were presented to me prior to starting the debridement. They just decided to proceed with whatever they deemed appropriate without notifying me. The new dentist was able to view my X-rays that were taken prior to the debridement and based his opinion based on that. Please employ better business practices and be upfront about your costs.
