Dr. McKinnon is a graduate of the Pankey Institute clinical studies at levels I and II. He also attended advanced courses early in his career, attending Northwestern University School of Dentistry for Periodontal Tissue Management I, II and III from 1990-1993.

In 1994, Dr. McKinnon became an Associate Fellow in the Academy of Implant Dentistry through the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. McKinnon became Invisalign Certified in 2006, along with the entire team at McKinnon Dental. Dr. McKinnon is also a member of the American Dental Association, the Wisconsin Dental Society and a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and Outagamie Dental Society. In 2011, Dr. McKinnon became an Associate Fellow World Clinical Laser Institute member as well. Dr. McKinnon married Sandee in 1994 and is the father of three children: Tyler, Kaitlyn and Quinn. He and his family live along the shores of the Wolf River. He enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends and boating, fishing and scuba divinganything involving the outdoors.

My goal has always been to provide compassionate, ethical oral healthcare that contributes to the overall health and happiness of my patients. I am proud of my mother and father for the love and guidance they have always provided! I am proud to have followed the footsteps of my father, whom I will always consider a better dentist, father, and man than I could ever hope to be!

For Lori, spending more than 15 years in the dental field is so much more than a job. Its a way of life! She finds the most enjoyment in getting to know her patients. It is her goal to make each patient feel comfortable and at ease from the moment they walk through the door. She loves being a part of a small and busy practice thats like being a part of another family!

Sandee has been with the practice for over 27 years. Though she initially completed a bachelors degree in business and fashion from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 1985 and worked in retail, she earned her degree in dental hygiene in 1999 and never looked back. Her favorite part of maintaining the business aspect of the practice is the relationships she has built with the patients over her tenure here. Sandee allows Dr. Dan to focus on the clinical aspect of the practice because of her mastery of the business aspect.

Sandee has three awesome kids with Dr. McKinnon. Running helps her to stay centered. She has run well over 100 marathons. She has run a marathon in every state and on all eight continents (New Zealand being number eight) and all Abbot World major marathons. She has also won an award from USA Track and Field.

My 94-yr. old mother, who has some dementia and recently confessed to having a fear of dentists, needed a cleaning and a couple chipped teeth repaired. Dr. Dan, his hygienist and assistant treated her with extreme kindness and dignity, reassuring her every step of the way, She and I were so impressed with the experience that she now is looking forward to her six-month check-up.

First off, their website is absolutely horrible. I'm looking into services specifically sedation. Clearly on their website, they have sedation dentistry and explaining multiple types they have. I call and ask for more information only to be answered by such a horrible woman. Incredibly rude on the phone, didn't know anything about what she was talking about, and said the website isn't correct and then hung up on me. From the looks of the other reviews people feel the same and it seems no one from the office will even see this because they haven't responded to any posts before. Thats pretty upsetting because the owner or manager needs to do something about that woman!

When I first met Dr. McKinnon, he told us how he really cared about people, and did not like to just pull teeth, it was for this reason he stopped working at the free clinic. At that time he had a nice friendly receptionist. He put an implant in my grandsons tooth, received money from the insurance company, along with thousands of dollars from us. We had to borrow the money, and we trusted the job to be done. According to the former receptionist and the doctor, we were told, everything was going to be OK and we did not owe any more money. The young receptionist quit, and her replacement told us, we still owed almost $2000.00, because somehow, someone in the office made a mistake. We were told, that until we paid this amount, his teeth would be held. Two years later, when he opens his mouth, he has a peg, without covering, and very few other teeth. All of this has caused him anxiety, and he feels he cannot go to a job interview with this peg sticking out. At this time, I am wondering whatever happened to his teeth, and if I should have an audit done by the Wisconsin State Insurance Fraud agency. I think Dr. McKinnon had good intentions, but was sidetracked by whomever runs the office now.

I have gone to McKinnon Dental my whole life. I haven't had a need to switch because they have been great. My parents, sister, wife, and kids also see him. I have nothing but good things to say.

I use to love this place, until they hired the front lady named Laurie. She is rude and says awful things. I brought it to the attention of the dentist and his wife and basically got shrugged off as no big deal. apparently they want a big, mean ol lady at the front desk. Will be looking for new and it is a shame as we have been here for atleast 7 years.

I am leaving this review after being a patient of Dr. McKinnon for 4 years. I came across Dr. McKinnon as a result of an emergency and "MY" dentist didn't return my call even to the emergency line. I am a professional and know a little about customer service and not returning emergency calls isn't how relationships work. I called Dr. McKinnon late in the day and not only was his humor a nice additive, he knows what is going on. On that emergence visit, he saw me right away and I was out the door without pain or hassle. Today, he and his staff (Julie) removed a cracked filling after it had been in place for 44 years and did so without pain. From the time I walked in to the time I was in my car leaving was under 60 minutes and was taken care of from start to finish. As I was leaving the front desk person said to have a great day and they would take care of the billing so none to worry. How much better can that be. Dr. McKinnon is the consummate professional, his staff is well trained and work as a team. McKinnon dental is #1 in my book.

I've been going to Dr. Dan for the past 8 years, and have had only great experiences. My daughter (7) had an appointment 2 weeks ago and found out she needed a few cavities filled. She's always loved going to McKinnon Dental, and was excited to go back in today. I was nervous, as it was her first filling/cavity, and thought for sure there'd be tears at some point. NONE! She was so well taken care of, didn't cry or feel any pain at all during the process, and was praised so highly by the whole team for being brave. He even gave her money to get ice cream afterwards for being such a "rockstar". I can not possibly say enough good things about this place. Go here. Bring your kids here. You'll be so glad you did.

Great hygienists. Doctor is friendly but works on several patients at once leaving him rushed and tools often unhygienic. Options, procedures, and costs don't get fully explained. I would seek care elsewhere.
