Our talented team members here at McKinney Ranch Family Dental are focused on making each visit as stress free as possible for our patients. As it is usually a nervous or painful time in their lives, taking care of our patients needs from the age of 2 to 90 years old is our number one goal. With each patient having different needs, it is up to our staff to personalize each visit from one person to the next.

Dr. Chens undergraduate education was completed at University of Texas at Austin in which she received the degree of Bachelor of Science. From 1996 to 2000, she attended Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas and graduated with a DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree. Dr. Chen is a member of Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and Dallas County Dental Society.

Dr. Chen and her husband have two children, Aimee and Andrew. In her spare time, Dr. Chen likes gardening, cooking, and attending operas and musicals with her husband. She also volunteers regularly at local Tzu-Chi charitable foundation to provide basic dental screenings.

Dr. Yang and her family immigrated to Texas when she was 13 years old from Taiwan. She started schooling here in Richardson (Richardson Junior High, Richardson High School). She completed and received her Bachelor of Science from University of Texas at Arlington. Dr. Yang graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1999 with a DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree. Dr. Yang is currently a member in good standing of several professional organizations including the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and Collin County Dental Society.

She and her husband have been married for 13 years and they have two boys. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family in addition to reading, traveling, and has volunteered at various church functions.

Christy grew up in Princeton, TX where she graduated from Princeton High School with the class of 1996. Later Christy went through the Collin County Community Colleges Dental Assistant Program and graduated as a Registered Dental Assistant with Nitrous Oxide Certification in August of 2011.

Christy has worked with Dr. Amy Y. Chen, D.D.S. and Dr. Catherine Y. Yang, D.D.S. from the time she graduated the Dental Assistant program. Christy is the proud mother of four children, two adults and the youngest two being twins. She enjoys reading, learning forensics, and spending time with friends and family.

I only gave them 2 stars and not 1 because Dr Yang is actually nice. The staff on the other hand definitely leaves something to be desired. I don't understand why the office staff is so rude at this location. The only person who is nice is the dentist. I called simply to make an appointment and spoke with Christie. I wish they recorded calls. I work in healthcare billing. She was speaking extremely fast and OVER ME. I couldn't get a word in after she stated I would possibly be receiving a bill. I specifically asked her for the x-ray names and codes that would be taken so I could verify by coverage because the last time they billed me incorrectly. I fully understand how healthcare billing works. The last time they asked me to come back the same day to refer me for an extraction for pain I mentioned during the first visit but decided to bill me for another office visit that was within 12 hours of the first one. They wrote it off because that is not correct billing. This time, I wanted to verify my coverage ahead of time because who says, "You might receive a bill if the insurance decides to process as diagnostic versus preventive. They should know how to bill. The way she spoke with me is unacceptable. I asked her if she was upset because wouldn't stop talking long enough for me to speak and she was raising her voice and then said I can just cancel your appointment. Then she says, "I just don't want you to get upset if you get a bill because you were upset last time and we wrote it off." It was a $40 bill. They also billed it when they shouldn't have. I am convinced with the economy being so bad businesses are just hiring anyone. If Christie was there before the company's downturn, I really feel sorry them because she definitely shouldn't be answering the phone nor speaking with customers.

Dr. Amy Chen is very friendly skillful and gentle. I had 2 cavities underneath my gum. She could send me for root canal and put crowns on both and charge me a lots. But she was trying her best to save my tooth not to put crown on. I am so thankful for her kindness. I am always scared to visit dentist especially the needles into the gum but dr. Chen is so skillful I didn't feel any pain. The office workers are very nice with pleasant atmosphere. I enjoy to visit this office and strongly recommend to you.

My experience in this dental clinic was very bad. They don't care about your teeth, feelings and time at all. They only care about how to make money from you. So they have a lot of terms that are unfair to patients.

In hopes of finding a new dentist, and after reading all the great reviews online, I decided to make an appointment. A week after making my appointment AND providing my insurance information up front, the receptionist repeatedly kept telling me she didn't have the info she needed and that her system "wouldn't take it" even after I called my insurance personally to obtain the info she needed (and confirming they were in-network)Then, they wanted to cancel my appointment. Also, she told me that she would NOT be calling my insurance because they are busy and does not want to be on hold for a long time. When I called the insurance, after 4 minutes, they told me there is no hold time and they are happy to speak with my provider now. Extremely unprofessional treatment, especially to brand new clients. I will be going somewhere else.

very rude receptionist. we confirmed both the appointments via text. the day of our appointments, we were running 5 mins late. So we called them to inform them that we are running 5 mins late. However we couldnt get thru (come to find out that their phone system was down). after 2 calls, we gave up calling. then we get a call from their office saying that if we are late by 15 mins our appointment will be cancelled. so i told the receptionist, that we am running 5 mins behind. we will be there shortly. so her response was "well, i am letting you know that if you are 15 mins late, we will need to reschedule your appointment" I had googled Dr Amy chen, McKinney, tx. It took us to 8408 Stacy Rd. which happens to be her previous address. As a result of this, we were late to the appointment. i told the gal that we are on our way to the new address. she says that we sent you the address via text and you confirmed it. its your fault that you went to the wrong address. I said, we will be there in 5 mins, as their new office is only 5 mins away from the old office. the receptionist only solution was to reschedule both our appointments. i ever told her that i took the day off and took my son out of school early. we will be there in 5 mins. her response was we can reschedule. this(we can reschedule) went on for more than 4 times. horrible attitude. and then she accuses me of being hostile. ofcourse i was little upset. she keeps saying the same thing over and over again. if the receptionist has such a bad attitude, i dont want to know how the doctor is. better off taking my whole family's business somewhere else.

EDIT- RESPONSE TO OWNER if you didn't just copy paste you would know that i didn't come in and we canceled our appointment. and you contacting google to get the "offensive" sections of my review taken out? not okay. like what are reviews for then? anywho this location is still unavailable to enter. it's all blacked out. kinda ghetto if you ask me. This was such an unpleasant experience. The receptionist was very difficult to work with she ended up hanging up on me after saying goodbye in the middle of me talking. I then called her back and she said the line got disconnected. I then said cancel my family's appointment and we are now taking our family elsewhere. It would be cheaper for them to buy an automated system to use.

My son and I saw Dr. Yang for a cleaning and today my son received sealants. The cleanings were great and Dr. Yang only recommends things that are necessary. There is barely a wait time and appointments are done in a timely manner. Dr. Yang is so patient with my son and makes sure he has an enjoyable experience. My son has autism and feels completely comfortable with Dr. Yang. She makes my son laugh the whole time and walks him through everything that is going on. Christy is also great and patient. Thank you!

After a distasteful moment, I promptly received a call from Dr. Katherine Yang concerned as to why we have had a bad experience after services were rendered and we left pleased with McKinney Ranch Family Dental. As stated before, treatment procedures were very professional, slight mishap that has now been resolved.
