Dr. Alfred grew up in Weston, WV, which is a small town located in central West Virginia. After graduating from Lewis County High School, he attended West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV and received his Bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology. He then decided to stay close to home and finish his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at WVU. During his dental training he became aware of all different aspects of his profession, and became passionate about the idea of replacingteeth that had been lost with dental implants. Hispassion to deliver the highest quality of treatment to his patients drove him to Houston, TX after graduation. Dr. Alfred completed a Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) at the University of Texas - School of Dentistry at Houston. He then applied the advanced techniques and practiced as a general dentist in the community of Parkersburg, WV. During his AEGD training and time in private practice he continued to have a drive to pursue a career in surgerywhich lead him back toTexas to specialize in Periodontics. Dr. Alfred returned back to University of Texas - School of Dentistry at Houston to specialize, earning his M.S. inOral Biologyand Certificate inPeriodontics.Not only was this an important time for him in his career buthe also hadthe opportunity to meet hisfuture wife, Paola.
Dr. Alfred and his wife are both very excited to be joining the Mckinney Periodontics family, and are excited to be starting a family of their own. Dr. Alfred enjoys following his Mountaineers during football and basketball season and giving his UT Longhornwife a hard time whenever WVU prevails. He has started the process of becoming a board certified periodontist and has a passion for research. His current research emphasis is on implantology and identifying factors that can increase the success of the treatment. He is a member of the Southwest Society of Periodontists, American Academy of Periodontology,and the Texas Dental Association. Dr. Alfred has a pure love for treating patients whether those are his own in private practiceor abroad on mission trips!

Another great dental experience. I trust my dental care to the professionals here. The service is excellent, friendly and today I came in for a simple cleaning. It is so important to take care of your gums because when you need to have implants like I have, healthy gums helps to ensure they are successful. I have been coming here for their services now for over 6 years. They are the best.

Dr. Philofsky explained very well what was happening and what he wanted to do. I really appreciated him taking the time for a careful and detailed explanation and also for not immediately suggesting surgery.

I personally had a problem with bone density and a bridge that broke off the two teeth holding it on. McKinney Periodontics & Implant Dentistry took me in as a new patent reviewed my problem and gave me a plan plus cost to make the proper repairs. In addition they worked me into their schedule and completed the repairs as presented.

While I wouldn't describe my extraction and implant procedures today as wonderful ...because after all I had dental surgery and only a crazy person would call that wonderful! What I can say is Dr. Philofsky and his staff make it as stress free and painless as possible. He and Nikki are an unbeatable team and had me out the door with my complimentary lap blanket and "goodie bag" with soup, applesauce and pudding in just 1 1/2 hours after I checked in. They are above and beyond!
