I have practiced orthodontics in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex for more than 34 years, and would not trade my profession for any other. It is so very rewarding to see patients enthusiasm when they see their smiles being transformed. The expression on patients faces the day they get their braces removed is so very rewarding for me. The maturity the younger patients gain while under our care is really exciting to experience, and the enjoyment of seeing a young adult come back to see us after having been out of treatment for years just to tell us about their accomplishments is fulfilling. So often these same patients return years later and compliment us by bringing their childen in for orthodontic care.
I know in my heart that our team changes lives for the better on a daily basis. There are many things that you forget in life. I always tell the patients they will never forget the day they get their braces removed. I certainly have not.
After attending Texas Tech University and The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Dental Branch, I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1977. After two years of private practice in general dentistry, I attended Baylor College of Dentistry, where I obtained my Certificate in Orthodontics in 1981 before earning my Masters of Science in Dentistry degree. I am a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists.
Continuous education allows me to stay on the cutting-edge in my field, which means my patients will receive the best orthodontic care possible. I have seen so many changes in orthodontic treatment throughout my career, and things just keep getting better!
Born in west Texas, I have one grown daughter, Liz and two grand-children Emma and Jet. I spend most of my free time working in my garage. Welding is a favorite pastime; I have constructed playground equipment, wrought iron gates and furniture, and props for the schools including a chariot. I am an instrument rated pilot and also a co-inventor and fabricator of a patented invention called the Hamstring TrainR, a machine designed to prevent and treat hamstring injuries. A home version of the invention will soon be under production. I also enjoy snow skiing, scuba diving, and motorcycle riding.

Janice brought her 16 years of experience to our team in 1990. Janice loves the day patients braces come off! Its a great feeling to see them smile and see how far theyve come since the day they began treatment. At the office, Janice can be found taking X-rays, intraoral photos, making retainers and changing archwires. She also enjoys educating patients on braces, oral hygiene, and removable appliance care and wear.
Deanna brought 14 years of experience to our team in 2015, including 5 years of Invisalign knowledge. Deanna enjoys building lasting relationships with our pateints and watching their smiles transform.
WhenDeanna is not at the office,she enjoys reading, painting, and spending time with her husband Brad and their family. Together they have five children. Alli, Katie, Faith, Dylan and Taylor. Deanna 's family also includes their pitbull, Juno and LBK 'Little Black Kitty'.

Conservative, top-notch Orthodontics! After researching Ortho in the Arlington area, we went with the recommendations of friends and more than one general dentist and came to McKelvain Orthodontics and I am so glad we did. After seeing my daughter, he determined that the Oral Surgery we were previously told she needed was unnecessary. Since then, using much more conservative methods she is well on her way to achieving her treatment goals. As a Dental Hygienist I appreciate the clean office, as a Mom I appreciate the financial aspect, and as a client I enjoy the friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend this office!

The office staff is so easy and pleasant to work with on billing, scheduling and getting any information. As for the Dr he is exception. Not only is he great at what he does but he has an awesome personality and my daughter loves his humor and says that they make it a fun and comfortable experience each time! I would highly recommend this office and Dr!

Fantastic experience! I came in just to have my permanent retainer repaired, and doctor McKelvain did a quick exam, gave me some tips for my bite, and got it glued back in very quickly. I contacted them the night before and they were able to get me in for the repair the next morning. Highly recommend!

Dr.Mckelvain and his staff are the best. His staff is very knowledgeable and the service is top notch. I have Invisalign and I have no issues they couldn't fix inside of 15 minutes. Highly recommended

First view as a consult post braces. Extremely friendly and welcoming from front desk, to dentist and assistants. Even provided a recommendation on a friendly dentist nearby. Very pleased with them and will continue to use.
