Dr. Derek McKaskle, as the son of a dentist, has been in and around dentistry for over 35 years. Dr. McKaskle graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then attended the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1999.
Dr. McKaskle believes that education does not stop when school is over. He attends many hours of advanced education every year. This allows him to continually learn and apply new techniques and concepts. He uses technology extensively to yield the best results.
Dr. McKaskle and his wife Susie have 2 beautiful daughters Abby and Kendra. When Dr. McKaskle is not working he enjoys spending time with family and traveling. He is involved in his church and is also currently serving as a board member of the Katy Family YMCA.
Dr. Laura Lukin graduated from the University of Texas Dental School in Houston in 2006. Dr. Laura spent her undergraduate years in Austin at The University of Texas where she graduated with a BA in Biology. She has practiced dentistry alongside Dr. Derek McKaskle for over ten years. Dr. Laura is passionate about building patient relationships based on comfort and trust. She is committed to providing her patients with the most conservative and lasting dentistry possible. Dr. Laura is an active member of a Spear Dental Education Study club and an active Faculty Club member with Spear Education.
Dr. Laura and her husband Mark adore their three precious daughters, Danielle, Gabrielle, and Camille. In her free time Dr. Laura enjoys long distance running, traveling, reading, and spending time outdoors.
Dr. Daniel K. Ho is a board-certified periodontist and a diplomate of The American Board of Periodontology. He specializes in the treatment of gum disease and provides treatment in implant dentistry, intra-oral bone grafts, esthetic gum grafts, wisdom tooth extraction, and sedation dentistry. Dr. Ho received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from McGill University, in Canada. He went on to specialize in periodontics and implant dentistry, and he received his Specialty Certificate in Periodontics and Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) degree at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. As a practicing periodontist in private dental offices for more than 10 years, Dr. Ho is also involved in teaching continuing education courses for general dentists. Dr. Ho is an author of a handful of textbook chapters in Clinical Maxillary Sinus Elevation Surgery, Clinical Cases in Implant Dentistry, and Clinical Cases in Periodontics. He is also actively involved in clinical periodontal and implant research and holds publications. He is the recipient of many awards, including two prestigious awards given by Harvard School of Dental Medicine Henry D. Epstein Award and Joseph L. Henry Award, Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) research fellowship, Dr. Andre Charest Prize awarded by Quebec Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, Sunstar GUM Award in Dentistry, and International College of Dentists Prize. Dr. Ho is very passionate about his work and strives to respect, care and educate his patients in their periodontal and dental implant health.

I've been going here since 2007 and would be going back if I didn't have to change dental providers. They are very transparent, not too pushy on expensive procedures, and have a great staff that clean your teeth comfortably and provide good treatment. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a dentist.

If you are a "nervous" patient type, like I am, you will find yourself losing that anxiety after your first visit here! Dr. Laura is absolutely amazing! Her staff is perfect - my Hygienist Connie, is SUPERB! I recently had to have a dental implant, so I was scheduled with Dr. Ho, a Periodontist who makes visits to this office on a regular basis. I give him 5 stars as well! He was kind, gentle, thoughtful, compassionate and VERY good at his job! This is a FIRST CLASS dental office - you will NOT be disappointed! A special shout out to "Rachel", Dr. Laura's Assistant - she is AMAZING!!!!!

There is not enough space here to write how good they are at Mckaskle. The office is so clean and the staff is super friendly. I have been to multiple dentists since moving to Houston and they made me feel like I was back home at my childhood dentist. They have so much care and concern and just make the experience amazing. Renee is so funny and you can truly tell she cares about what she does just like everyone else in the office. I have been hard pressed to find a good dentist for years and finally the search is over. No matter how far you are, it is worth the trip!!

Doctor and staffs are knowledgeable and courteous. Office is nice and clean. Renee was providing me a careful and gentle dental cleaning with all explanations on any concerns. I had tried some different places in Katy but this is the one I like the most.

professional, knowledgeable, friendly staff. pleasant experience and was nice to find a place will to help strategize your dental work as needed if you have a lot of teeth issues like I had. it was a comforting feeling like some one was actually there to help guide you and not look at you just as another paycheck to rush you in and out.

The staff is friendly and Dr. Lukin is AMAZING! I had terrible anxiety about dental visits but Dr. Lukin changed that for me.

McKaskle Family Dentistry is definitely the best dentist in the Houston area. The front desk staff members are amazing at coordinating the business, and there isn't a question they can't answer. Charlene is the greatest hygienist I've ever had. She really enjoys what she does, and it shows in her work. Also, if you suffer from sleep apnea you've got to go see Dr. Laura Lukin. She can change your life forever.

My family and I love the staff and doctors at McKaskle Family Dentistry. The new location is closer to us. Mrs. Jennifer always knows my voice when I call. I used to be very anxious going for dental visits until I started going to McKaskle Family Dentistry. Every other dentist I went to didn't care if I was in pain or uncomfortable. McKaskle Family Dentistry is very honest with their treatment plans and genuinely care about all of their patients!
