Dr. Scott has been following in his fathers footsteps in surfing and in orthodontics for years. After a professional surfing career traveling the globe, Dr. Scott decided to finish his schooling and became a orthodontist in 1995 and joined the family here in the West Palm Beach. Dr. Scott is proud of his beautiful daughter Camilla and his incredible wife, Bebe. Dr. Scotts charities of choice in the community are The YMCA of the Palm Beaches and the Surf Museum managed by the PBC Surfing History Project.
Dr. Scott grew up locally on Singer Island and attended Cardinal Newman H.S. graduating in 1980. He majored in Microbiology at University of Florida and then attended Dental school at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. After receiving his DMD degree in 1992, Dr. Scott then participated in a one year research fellowship at the University of Floridas Orthodontic Department. The research studied the relationships of varying orthodontic treatments on Class II malocclusions in Phase I (early treatment ) cases. The study was supported by a NIH grant. Subsequently Dr. Scott complete a 2 year Orthodontic Residency at Medical College of Georgia orthodontic program (1993 - 1995) and then returned home to join the family practice with Dr. Chum in the summer of 1995.
Dr. Scott is also a member of the East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame and the Florida Skateboard Hall of Fame. In fact, Dr. Scott and Dr. Chum are the only father and son combination that have been inducted into the Surfing Hall of Fame.
Dr. Thebis Alvarez Franceschi was born in Venezuela where she discovered her passion for science while learning from her dad, a physics professor. As a child, Dr. 'A' had great love for arts, so she spent her childhood painting portraits with oil on Canvas. Her great interests in arts, science and helping others guided Dr. A to decide orthodontics was the perfect career for her.
Choosing a career that was both fulfilling and challenging was not easy but becoming a Dentist was first on the list. Thus, Back in Venezuela, she completed her first year of dental school. In December of 2007, her and her family moved to United States.
In 2013, Dr. Alvarez Franceschi completed her Bachelors degree in Biology at Florida International University (FIU). That same year, she started dental school at Nova Southeastern University (NOVA) where she earned her Master in Dental Medicine. Dr. Alvarez was honored to complete her Orthodontic training at Jacksonville University where she gained invaluable skills in the field.

The absolute best! You know you've found the most professional and family-friendly orthodontist in town when you actually look forward to going to your appointments. The doctors and staff are incredibly professional, but they're also so much more than that. They make you feel like family and the most important patient to step through their doors. I recently completed Invisalign treatment with this office- the staff was so incredibly kind, professional and even took time before or after normal hrs to see me( my schedule as a flight attendant can get crazy!)Dr. Scott addressed each of my concerns with care and kindness, he even gave me a few pointers to create that perfect smile and make me look younger- who doesn't appreciate that as an adult. I get so many compliments on the plane and I have Scott and his great team to thank. There is not a week that goes by without me mentioning him to passengers, fellow co workers or a quick text to say thank you because someone compliments my smile. So much so that my mom will be a patient when she gets back from her vacation. the team that Scott has created makes you feel welcome: you enter that office as a new patient and you leave as family. I can not say enough good things about this office! Dr. Scott and Dr. Alvarez are an amazing team. My family has been coming here for 15 years. My brother got his braces here when he was younger and now our little sister is a new patient and nothing has changed always amazing. As soon as we found out my sister needed braces my mom didn't hesitate to call and make an appointment. We hadn't been back in years, but as soon as we walked in the new office is beautiful the ladies in the front are so welcoming and the dental assistant was super sweet. Will always recommend Dr. Scott and his office to everyone.

I highly recommend McCranels Orthodontics. They are the best in town. Dr Scott and Dr Alvarez are so professional and knowledgeable and at the same time so friendly and down to earth. The same goes for the staff. I am an adult with braces for the last year and they made the process so easy and understandable. just got my braces off and my teeth look fantastic. Don't hesitate to use them they are wonderful people and so straight forward and very experienced.

Dr. Scott and Dr. Alvarez are one of the best orthodontists you will ever meet. We are so happy to have met Dr. Alvarez today. She saw my son and daughter for a consultation . Highly recommended ! I was a transfer patient from another local practice. As soon as I walked in the office, I knew I was in great hands. Dr. Scott, Connie, Maggie and the entire staff present such a pleasant, professional atmosphere.
