Orthodontists are crafts people: we are builders who design and build smiles that are healthy, functional, and beautiful. We work with people of all ages, using tools and techniques that are non-threatening and comfortable, in a welcoming and friendly environment. When we are finished, we get to witness the effect that our work has on each patients life, as they go into the world with a smile that brims with confidence!

I am grateful to be in a profession that provides services that can be transformative for patients. It is rewarding to work with each patient to design a treatment plan and see it through to fruition, crafting a healthy, aesthetically pleasing smile that can enhance the persons self-esteem. We undertake this journey together and become friends in the process.

In the more than 20 years I have practiced orthodontics, I have been honored to meet and build connections with many remarkable people. Each of those relationships has changed my life: broadening my understanding of the world and making me a better practitioner and person.

A lifelong learner, Dr. McCoy completes many hours of continuing education each year. He participates in orthodontic-specific courses, and studies new and improved diagnostic and treatment modalities to incorporate the best into the practice. This ensures the most pleasant patient experiences and most predictable, healthy, radiant smiles.

Dr. McCoy also stays abreast of the latest developments in general dentistry, which provides him with greater insight into patients long-term oral health concerns. Through the Southern Crescent Study Club chapter of the Seattle Study Club, he learns alongside general dentists and oral health specialists, who collectively diagnose and perform treatment planning for complex cases. This level of collaboration and interaction enhances the treatment he provides, particularly for adult patients.

A native of Douglasville, Dr. McCoy has lived in Newnan since 1996. Julie, his wife of more than 35 years, and he have two adult children and currently share their lives and home with their bulldog, Harley, who is also the star of the McCoy Orthodontics Facebook page.

When hes not crafting smiles, or studying the latest orthodontic research, Dr. McCoy is probably enjoying time with Julie. The couple likes dining out, going to the movies, and cheering for the UGA Bulldogs.

Seeing our patients and families arrive for their visits, and being greeted by their ever-improving smiles, is amazing! I really enjoy interacting with and getting to know everyone during treatment: its always fun to catch up on the latest news and chat for a bit.

Dr. McCoy and I have been married for more than 35 years. We have two grown children and an English Bulldog. Outside of work, I love to restore or repurpose old things, especially old wood, but my passion is writing and teaching Bible studies. I have been active member of Crossroads Church for more than20 years.

As the treatment coordinator, I help patients and parents understand their treatment plan, answer questions about care, and walk them through joining the practice. I want everyone to understand the process so theyre able to make informed decisions about treatment.

I recently bought a fixer-upper house, which keeps me very busy outside of my work hours. I am a crafter, love to work out, get away to the beach as often as I can, and treasure time with my son and twin daughters.

It is rewarding to be part of changing a persons life by changing their smile. I look forward to patient visits, both to see the progress theyre making and to hear whats happening in their life. My work lets me help my friends achieve confident smiles, and I love it!

My days are spent in the clinic, where I seat and prepare the patient for Dr. McCoy and then work chairsideto assisthim. I also provide patient care and education, lots of encouragement, and work to make sure everyone is happy with their visit.

Building relationships with patientswhile helping them achieve a great smileis incredible. I like learning who each patient ispersonally, and hearing about their families and friends. We become close during treatment: They finish with a great smile and Im thrilled for my friend!

I work in our clinic, where I assist Dr. McCoy with a range of procedures while making sure our patient is comfortable in the chair. I also educate patients about oral hygiene, encourage them on their home care, and answer all their questions before the visit is over.

I married my high-school sweetheartScottyin 2003. We have a son, Caden, and Boxer puppy, Blair. Caden plays travel baseball, so most of our free time is spent at the ball field. I love to craft, too, and read when I can find the time.

When ones teeth are healthy and straight, we feel better about appearance, and that boosts our self-esteem. With the change in how we view ourselves, our self-esteem grows and we happily engage with others confidently sharing our best smile!
