Orthodontic treatment took me from an uncomfortable, embarrassed child to an adult with a confident smile. I recognize the difference that changing a smile can make in ones self-esteem because I experienced it myself.
Now, as an orthodontist, I enjoy getting to know my patients through each persons journey. Some have similar stories to my own, having to wear braces during those awkward pre-teen years. Others are adults whose discomfort with their smiles has made them feel less confident throughout life. With each person, I find that while we walk through the treatment process, their self-esteem blossoms and my staff and I get to be part of that persons life at an exciting time.
I love getting to know each of my patients and watching the transformation from an uneasy smile to a joyful, confident one. There are many stories of people who feel uncomfortable or embarrassed smiling because they are unhappy with the appearance of their teeth. Each story pulls on my heartstrings. If I can help that person love her smile and want to share it with the world, it brings joy to us both.

They truly care about our patient family as people, first and foremost, and want only the best for them. After completing dental school, I started a general dental practice in my hometown of Laurinburg. I worked as a general dentist for eight years before returning to school for my masters degree and orthodontic residency. In 2012, I took over this practice from Dr. Dan Warren, who retired after serving the community for almost 40 years.
Staying abreast of developments in ones field is an essentialpart of any profession. Thats especially true in orthodontics, due to the continual development of new procedures, techniques, and technology.
I owe it to myself, my patients, and my profession to prioritize education and training for myself and my entire staff. Continuing to learn about the latest technology and treatment modalities enables us to provide the most appropriate, effective, and advanced care for our patients.
In addition, I am an adjunct clinical professor in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. I spend every other Wednesday working with orthodontic residents, to sharemy clinical knowledge and experience.
Im passionate about education, as I am a product of the public school system and my mother and wife have beenpublic school teachers. I believe it is our responsibility to provide an excellent education to every child.
Im also passionate about helping others and strengthening our community. Im an active member of First Presbyterian Church here in Greenville and have served as a Sunday School teacher, an elder, and the chair of the interim pastor search committee. Im also a member of the Rotary Club, an organization that supports education in Pitt County.
Im an active supporter of several local programs, including Young Life, Building Hope, and the Greenville Museum of Art. I believe that thriving communities are those that are invested in by the people.

I also accept and enter payments, take care of insurance paperwork, and handle front-office duties, including answering the phones and scheduling visits.

As a true Eastern North Carolina girl, I love spending time near the water, whether it be camping by the ocean on the beach, or fishing in a kayak on the river. ;I also love visiting our beautiful mountains for a hike or just to take in the breathtaking scenery. When I'm not roaming around in nature, I love to sing and attend as many concerts as I can! ;

I share my life with my husband and former high-school sweetheart ;Melvin, as well as our pug and our cat. I like to read, garden, craft, and walk and bike. We enjoy traveling to NCs beaches and mountains and spending time with family and friends.

I help with removing wires and fitting bands, Invisalign attachments, and ;lab work. I will take your final records, including radiographs, photos, and impressions.
I joined McCall Orthodontics in 2015 and love working with our patients. My favorite day is when we remove braces and see our patients ;reaction to all theyve accomplished! We have a small office that feels like a family and we all really care about our patients and their families.
My husband, Joseph, and I married in June 2016. ;In ;2019 we welcomed our first child, a sweet baby boy named ;Silas. We love going out on the boat as a family. I keep busy when Im not in the office with my own photography business. I enjoy cooking, beach getaways, antique shopping, remodeling our old ranch-style home, and spending time with family.

Ill make sure youre comfortable in the chair and assist with transferring braces to teeth and changing wires and ligatures. I also handle lab work, including pouring and trimming models and making retainers.
I started in the field ;and with this practice in 1994, and love working with a variety of patients, from the little ones here for pre-treatment, to adults getting the smile theyve always wanted. This is an incredible practice, with a doctor and team who love making beautiful smiles!
Hello! I'm Shannan, I'm the newest member to Dr. McCall's chairside team. I made the transition from financial coordinator, back to my roots as an ;orthodontic assistant in 2018. I assist Dr. Mcall in the clinic where I help with various procedures such as changing wires, adjustments, ;Invisalign attachments and ;final records to name a few. I also love making sure instruments are sterilized and surfaces are disinfected!

I was born and raised in Missouri and moved to North Carolina in late 2015 to be with my then-boyfriend. Im pleased to say that, as of May 2017, that boyfriend is now my husband! We have two cats, Melo and Raider, and a dog, Drake. My husband and I love spending time with friends and family here in NC and visiting those in MO, too. We also love being near water, whether on the beach or on a boat here, or on the crystal-clear Current River in MO.
