John McAllister, DDS Dr. John McAllister is a talented, vibrant, and highly skilleddentist in Hickorythat has served the area for many years. After growing up in Hickory, Dr. McAllister began his education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating in 1991 with a degree in psychology. Dr. McAllister then pursued a post-graduate Masters degree in physical therapy at The Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia.
He worked for eight years as a physical therapist and Director of Rehabilitation Services at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir, North Carolina. Desiring a career change, he pursued his passion for dentistry by returning to the University of North Carolina where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Science degree with Honors and Distinction.
After gaining valuable experience working with Dr. Eugene Modlin and attending numerous continuing education courses and peer supported study clubs, Dr. McAllister was prepared to open his own dental office in Hickory. He has loyally served every patient with the most up-to-date, professional, and caring dental services, gaining the respect of his patients and the local community.
Dr. McAllister and his staff are committed to helping the citizens of Catawba County by donating free dental care and dental supplies and also making financial contributions to a wide variety of organizations, schools, and charities throughout the region.
