Dr. Gibbons is a Dentist, and a Prosthodontist. Which means that he has extensive training in prosthodontics. When general dentistry is not enough, it is a prosthodontist that provides an added level of care, especially in the restoration of the teeth or in improving the smile you already have. Dentists who specialize in the advanced dentistry of prosthodontics spend three more years after dental school in a highly-technical training curriculum. This advanced study and Dr. Gibbons decades of clinical experience allow him to successfully treat the most complex patient situations and meet the highest aesthetic expectations.
Dr. Gibbons grew up in Southern Arizona and attended the University of Arizona in Tucson. He then went on to dental school at the University of Oregon where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. After graduation, Dr. Gibbons joined the U.S. Navy and completed his military service before returning to Tucson to practice general dentistry.
As a practicing dentist, Dr. Gibbons discovered a strong interest in reconstructive and aesthetic dentistry. Following his heart, he enrolled in a three-year specialty training program called a 'Prosthodontics Residency Program' in Wilmington, Delaware. This program gave Dr. Gibbons specialty training in prosthodontics, crowns, bridges, implants as well as complete and partial dentures. This program also trained him in Maxillofacial Prosthetics, which is the restoration of teeth and oral and facial defects for trauma and cancer patients.
Dr. McAdams often refers to himself as The Smile Engineer, and its for good reason. In 2001, Don earned his Civil Engineering degree from Montana State University and earned his Professional Engineers license before continuing his studies to become a dentist.
Dr. McAdams background makes him uniquely qualified to care for his patients because he approaches each treatment plan with an engineers perspective and the very best clinical dental training. Whatever type of bridge you may require, Dr. McAdams has got you covered!
Dr. McAdams grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska where he learned to appreciate the outdoors and honed his skills as a fly fisherman. Following his love of all things outdoors to the mountains of Bozeman, Montana, he pursued his engineering degree at Montana State University and graduated in 2001. Don practiced engineering, and worked to build roads and runways in Phoenix, Arizona until he met Jaime (our wonderful dental hygienist) who became Don's wife and then inspired him to pursue the career change that lead him to become one of the most popular dental providers in Arizona.
Dental school lead Don and Jaime to relocate to San Francisco, CA where he attended the prestigious Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry at the University of the Pacific and honed his skills as a dental practitioner so that he could return to Phoenix and start McAdams Dental. After returning to Arizona, Don and Jaime have worked to build our dream dental practice and we are proud of the family setting that we have established at our practice. 'Dr. Don' is proud to help keep Arizona smiling, and he enjoys working with his fantastic team of dental professionals.
Since starting his practice in 2011, Dr. McAdams has pursued extensive continuing education training including a 300 hour mini residency in dental implant training called the AAID Maxicourse. After this advanced training and an extensive examination, Dr. McAdams became a credentialed member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
In 2015 we joined forces with Dr. Michael Gibbons to create McAdams Dental and Scottsdale Prosthodontists and we are happy to say we have actually created our dream practice. We are excited to show it to you soon!

I absolutely hate the dentist and haven't been in over 10 years. I recently had a front tooth fracture and need to be extracted. The whole McAdams Team was great in making sure I was comfortable. Doctor McAdams and I have built a plan to get me back on track and for the first time in my life getting me to go to the dentist when I should.

I highly recommend seeing Dr. Brad Smith at McAdams Dental. He took the time to listen and discuss options with me, and he was so patient and gentle. He did a great job with my toddler as well and made her feel comfortable. I will definitely be coming back!

I loved the experience that I had with my teeth cleaning. The doctor and tech's are amazing!!! But, when I was done I was told that there are issues with my insurance. Keep in mind I stoped in months before my appointment to fill out forms and fill out my insurance information. If there was issues before my appointment it should of been told. Then a few days later I got a phone call from the office saying that I need to come back in with my insurance information as it was not found. So, my question is how can someone lose personal information that was already given? Before you go and have your appointment please make sure your insurance goes through and that it's on file. I would say that's been the most headache of this place! Otherwise the rest of my experience was good!

I've always been unhappy with previous dentist's I've tried in the past until my Son Ryan introduced me to the Dr. McAdams team. This team is fantastic, friendly, and caring. Iv'e always been paranoid about needles but Dr. McAdams was great and I hardly felt the needle. And usually he has to shoot me several times because I'm so sensitive on my gums. They're great with cleanings and spend alot of time making sure all is good and clean, not like other dentists that spend 10 minutes cleaning and I'm out the door. Now we are working on a new project on dentures and he has explained everything thoroughly on the procedure to be done. The office is kept very clean and up to date with dental equipment. He will be my husbands and mine dentist for life!!

McAdams Dental is the absolute best. Everyone there is so nice and friendly and make the experience so peaceful and calm. I went in today for a filling that I was absolutely dreading and Dr. McAdams is such an expert that I didn't even feel the numbing and the whole thing was over in 15 minutes! I couldn't believe it!! There's a level of precision, expertise, talent, and kindness here that I haven't experienced at any other business let alone at another dentist. Truly amazing experience, every time. It's a 10/10 highly recommend.

I am glad that our paths crossed. Dr. McAdams and his team, from what I've seen so far, are one of those rare gems in the dentistry field- honest and down to earth. :) While most dentists I've run into try to upsell you on unnecessary services and cavities, when I came to Dr. McAdams he was the first one to truthfully tell me that my teeth were healthy and he also came up with a simple workaround for the other minor issue I was having on a molar (previous dentists told me everything had to be redone, but not Dr. McAdams). :) Everything is done pretty efficiently here too. For example, if you need to get a crown they can get it done the same day. They even show you the machine they use. While dentists work on you, they also have Happy TV playing on both screens which offers the perfect distraction and makes you smile- love that! His staff is also super nice. The front desk people are very patient and willing to help, and the hygienist really tries to get to know you as a person and chats you up.. (Only thing to keep in mind is if you are a new patient, they will do a 2 hour comprehensive exam and cleaning, and if you want that cleaning, you might have to wait a few weeks out). Other than that, I loved the great customer service provided.

I had not been to the Dentist in nearly 25+ years. I was timid about going since I had not been but as soon as your walk in the staff is great and caring and does not treat you like another patient. The office is inviting and then seeing Dr. McAdams he was amazing. He told me everything that he was doing and explained why he was doing it and set me at ease. After leaving there I have went back numerous times as well as taken my kids there as well and EVERY TIME it is the same exact great service from Dr. McAdams and his staff. If your looking for a new dentist or wanting to switch I recommend McAdams Dental 100%!

Best dental experience I have had Dr.McAdams was very nice. The staff was very nice the office and exam rooms were very clean and nice overall it was great. They were able to see me right when I came in and I was out of there quickly!

I just saw Dr. McAdams for a chipped molar this week. As always, he is a top notch friendly and personable dentist who will use a conservative approach and try to save his patients money. He was able to save my tooth without the need for a crown. Instead of costing over $1000 my total bill was a little over $200. I would highly recommend him for any of your dental care. I've been going to him for a number of years and he provides top notch treatment.

A few years ago I had an infection that needed surgical intervention. Dr McAdams advised me and I've been his patient ever since. I require 1/4ly cleanings and his staff does a perfect job. No more infections. So now I have the most wonderful smile! Dr McAdams capped my teeth beautifully and they look so natural. I smile all the time now. This is the finest dental facility I've experienced in years. Thank you to the entire crew!
