Mayfaire Family Dentistry is proud to support Masonboro.org. Masonboro.org protects public access, promotes responsible use, and preserves the traditions of Masonboro Island. The organization works to keep the traditions of Masonboro Island surfing, camping, fishing, boating, paddleboarding open to the community now and in the future. Wilmingtons beautiful islands and waterways caught Dr. Overtons eye at a young age and exploring our coastline continues to be one of his favorite passions. He goes above and beyond to make sure they are well-informed and feel optimistic about visiting the dentist. Dr. Overton always looks out for his patients best interests while providing compassionate attention and a friendly smile. After attending Clemson University for his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Overton attended the University of Tennessee School of Dentistry. Upon graduating with this Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree, he began working with his uncle, James W. Overton, DDS, a local family dentist in Wilmington, NC. While working with his uncle, he assisted patients with general care, cosmetic dentistry, minor surgical procedures, dental implants, and root canals. He also became an inaugural member of the Port City Study Club, which is affiliated with the Seattle Study Club.
After working as an associate with his uncle, Dr. Overton began an associateship in Kenansville, NC, in a general dental practice limited to children. There, he delivered comprehensive pediatric care to patients that were typically between the ages of four and seven. The most common procedures he completed included fillings, crowns, space maintainers, root canal therapy to primary and permanent teeth, and third molar extractions.
Dr. Overtons extensive experience providing a full range of general and specialized dental services to patients of all ages inspired him to open Mayfaire Family Dentistry. As a local family dentist in Wilmington, Dr. Overton looks forward to developing long-term, lasting relationships with members of the local community and serving as their trusted dentist for many years to come.

This is Susan, I had a back tooth break on Sunday. Called Monday morning and they called me back shortly after. Was able to get me in. Very kind staff, very accommodating. As I am just moving to the area. Had not yet thought of changing my dentist from back home. Very good care.

Well I was given no option but crown on my tooth even though I was asking for an other option. Doctor wouldn't even go out to talk to me personally after cleaning was done. Initial appointment happened with doctor when he said it won't be that much of a crown but this is how they spell it for correct insurance billing. But it's still a crown. And I would have to pay for it. So if I don't want to go with crown no services won't be provided to be. Simple business to make money on u! Won't recommend/tell anyone not to go!

The ideal Dental experience .My Dentist and the Dental Assistant/ Hygienist were both top flight. Brand new, well appointed suite of offices. Impressive array of high tech equipment. Conveniently located with plenty of parking. Dr. Overton is a local man well known and well regarded in the community. He is from a Dental family and while youthful he is possessed of significant experience to be relied upon in all types of Dentistry and serious matters. Accepts various types of insurance. Highly recommended with no reservations whatsoever.

I have never felt 100% comfortable at the dentist until I started going to Mayfaire Family Dentistry and Dr. Overton! They let you watch whatever Netflix show you want or play your favorite music. They even have blankets if you're cold or just need some extra comfort! Truly the best dental experience I've ever had.
