Maxfield Orthodontics has been creating beautiful smiles in the Salt Lake Valley for the past 35 years. Dr. Norman Maxfield started creating Maxfield Smiles in the Salt Lake Valley in 1981. Dr. Norm's oldest son, Dr. Blake Maxfield, joined the practice in 2009 and has helped it grow into the orthodontic office it is today! Even though Dr. Blake now owns the business, Dr. Norm is still around part-time.
We offer Orthodontic treatment for both children and adults and treat all our patients like members of our own family. Our primary services include Damon braces (both clear and metal), Invisalign, and Retainers (both clear plastic and metal). We also offer permanent retainers on both the upper and the lower. We are continually adapting by incorporating the new technologies available to us in the modern Orthodontic industry. Therefore, antiquated practices like headgear are a thing of the past!

Dr. Blake Maxfield grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is a Brighton High graduate. He attended BYU his freshman year and then later received his B.A. from the University of Utah. He received numerous academic scholarships and awards during his undergraduate education.
He remained in Richmond to complete his orthodontic residency and received his Master of Science degree. He has been published in orthodontic journals and was the primary author in the March 2012 issue of the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics regarding his research on white spot lesions. Dr. Blake Maxfield has extensive experience with difficult interdisciplinary cases as a former member of the VCU Craniofacial/Facial Reconstruction Team. He is one of the top Invisalign providers in the state and in 2015 reached Premier Preferred Provider status. Dr. Blake Maxfield is also currently the President of the Utah Association of Orthodontists organization which plays a major role in orthodontic key research to enable orthodontists worldwide to provide patients with the highest quality of care.
After his many years of training in beautiful Virginia, Dr. Blake Maxfield was excited to return home and join his father's practice. In 2015 he married his beautiful and sweet wife Michelle, who is a Texas native. He loves spending time with his daughter Sienna and stepson Jameson. His hobbies include basketball, tennis, golf, water skiing, and snowboarding. He served an LDS mission in Brazil and his Portuguese remains fluent today. Currently, he is also trying to master the Spanish language.

Rosie is usually the first of many friends you will meet here at Maxfield Orthodontics. She is responsible for helping all our new patients get the information they need to start treatment with us. Rosie works closely with our patients and families to find affordable payment options. She loves meeting new patients and seeing the transformation as they go through treatment.
Jan has the difficult task of taking care of all our patients accounts. It is her job to make paying your bill as easy as possible. We joke that she is the 'bad guy' of the office but once you meet her you realize she is too nice to be a 'bad guy'. Jan is a local Cottonwood Heights gal and supported many Brighton High school sports teams over the years.
Jessica is an experienced Orthodontic assistant. She is the one who keeps our clinic running smoothly. She keeps all our supplies stocked and organized. Jessica recently had braces as an adult so she can really relate to what our patients go through.
